  1. Just a couple I shot today. The Normandy Cowl is now fitted this morning (Excellent fabrication Adrian). Rick and Colin are on Gun and breech and still grafting like crazy when I left the yard at 7:30pm tonight. (I needed my SubWay roll) I'll be there at W&P, like Rick I will drive through the night avoiding the sun and traffic.
  2. The big exhaust Normandy cowl that fits on the back needs fabricating from scratch and I will need dimensions. I would appreciate any help whatsoever of measurements. Also I need to gather together some tools, track adjusting bar and other bits that strap to sides. I'll see if the book tells me anything but I doubt it.
  3. Well I have learned a valuable lesson for very awkward positions. Using old suite cushions and tons of anything spongy to kneal on and emptying my pockets for going in head first. I can only imagine the consequences if I lost my beemer keys with the cost of replacement. I have just realized what I said above hasn't anything to do with screwing the missus.
  4. On the re-instalation, I'll make sure this time that I pack the gaps with cloths so I don't lose any more spanners underneath the box and belly plates. I was lucky to get them back on this occasion.
  5. I doubt in this country we are allowed to fart through a gun barrel and ignite it. I'm sure we can improvise though with some form of device. As I think back to early 90s with a Grizzly, we used Thunderflash or Maroons shoved in the breech at some event. Just dug this up... A much younger me driving with our mate Phyll Baker to my right who sadly passed away a couple of years ago around Xmas Eve. The guy above was just an interloper. lol
  6. Yes, twas a little bit of oil residue, but its sorted now.
  7. I am going back to do a few hours now as I need to drop the tickover, there doesn't appear to be an adjustment screw as the carbs are inaccessable under the water cooled inlets. The manual is a bit iffy and not very descriptive on the simplest of things like a tickover screw. Either that or I need new glasses. Had to remove rockers and torque head down further as a leak of water was spitting out of the left exhaust manifold, I torqued down to 130lbs ft and 115 on the end bolts as advised by Flight Engineering. All seems to be well now and running fine apart from fast tickover.
  8. Yes, and a spoon of vinegar or even pickle juice if you can stomach it is suppose to work although I haven't tried it yet. Home remedies can be found on google. http://www.myhomeremedies.com/topic.cgi?topicid=977
  9. Well good luck with it! Don't hesitate to ask me for photos of things that I can get at easily. I am sure every little bit helps. I was doing a bit today in an awkward position and got a real bad attack of leg cramp, I shovelled a spoon of mustard down my throat and a banana, cramp is something I suffer from regular.
  10. Is 1/6th the biggest for modellers supplies or can you go to lets say 1/2
  11. Was only kidding, sorry guys! Its coming on fine...... It was just an opportunity with cutting gear at hand to stage it.
  12. Gentlemen! A very sad day for the restoration fraternity. It has been decided to cut up the LEE for scrap as the project was deemed unworthy. Shown is a salvage dealer cutting up the upper hull.
  13. Thought about the final drive end, this may be of some use. Its a scan from a Workshop Manual for a Mk7.
  14. Adrian, thanks for advice on using jack on track link idea, I eventually managed to turn the track resulting in movement of the brake drums, steady going was recommended at a 3.7:1 ratio, all brakes shoes are just kissing the drums and pedal is right up... Nice one!
  15. If you can still get this book, its well worth it although it won't be £5.95 now.
  16. I may just have some information that could be useful...going back to Bobs yard now, so I'll mail you later. I only live 500 yards from yard.
  17. I couldn't as I was driving... I will wait for you to move it about and I'll do a proper video.
  18. Rick, plz check your phone, I sent you a text with regards to a progress report.
  19. See you down Bobs yard this week Rick.
  20. To get this far has taken the efforts of many, I am just a cog in a cog, however I rank as the sun wheel, the rest are my planets
