  1. With a T-72, I'd be inclined to ask how tall are you? They're known for being extremely cramped inside. Certainly weren't designed with the...ahem.."generous" (:-D) American Civilian psysic in mind. Andy is correct in what can & can not be run on US roads is up to individual States to deside so check your State's DMV regs. From what I'm to understand (at least in Va-where I live), what they allow on the road has less to do with tracks and more to do with a vehicle's width & weight. Although IMHO, I don't think it would be a problem for me to register a halftrack for street use, I may be hard pressed to obtain a set of tags for say a Spartan APC from VaDMV. Matt Oh and if I have a vote, I'd go with the BMP. Yes it is also made for members of the lollypop gilde but, it is very tank like with it's full tracks & rotating turret w/ gun barrel plus you can carry some extra friends/kit with you in the rear troop compartment. ' Think it may be smaller/lighter in weight then the Abbot as well.
  2. That appears to be another Canadian Mk.I (US style turn signals on fenders). As for tires, I've read of a few folks over on ferret-heaven using the standard 9:00X16 NDT (bar grip) tires on their scout cars without problems. There have been several threads over on that site about it. Matt
  3. I have a Mk.1/2 that is currently torn down for resto in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. A friend of mine who's not to far away from me has an operational Mk.2/3 Matt
  4. Here's another dumb question, Are the bulbs in MOD Defenders different from their Civilian defender counterparts? I know the MOD trucks use 24v electrics to power military accessories such as radios but was lead to believe that the trucks themselves were still 12V. Matt
  5. Griff66 Thats' a very tidy Mk.1/2 thanks for posting the pics. My ferret (00EA85) is currently a stripped hull sitting on 6X6 wood timbers. The good news is that I'm in the reassembly phase of the restoration but it is slow going. Matt
  6. Thank you. Before I became a ferret owner, the Mk.1/2 was my least favorite of all the ferrets but after owning one for some time now, it's just the oposite. Mk.1/2 (& Mk.1) are my favorites. Matt
  7. Diana and Jackie Thank you for your help! Regards, Matt
  8. Hello I've had no luck so far, even posted over on ferret heaven without a single response. What I'm looking for are the NSN for the ferret's steering linkage pins. These pins are used to connect the inner steering levers to the steering forks inside the hull. Mine are missing and I need to order a set of them. Thanks. Regards, Matt
  9. Hey everybody!-or should I have said "OY, You Lot! My name is Matt and I've been an MVer for right around 20 years now. I currently have an M151A2 jeep and a Ferret (00EA85) Mk.1/2 which is currently under restoration. Over the years I've either owned or restored some Dodges (WC51,WC62, M37s),M59APC, A few G838s (M151A1 & two M151A2s). I'm sure there's been a few others but I can't remember what right off hand :embarrassed:. I've bitten by the land rover (defender) bug, the D110 is my favorite but at this point I don't know if I want to go with an XMOD rig or a civilian one. Anyway, it's good to be here and thanks for letting me join. Regards, Matt
