  1. One year i saw a foreign couple(Polish i think) washing all there cutlery and plates at the Elson tank. At the time it had a brush there as well to clean the inner most reaches of the portaloo,s. They were scrubbing away with vigour with the brush.

Countless people tried in vain to tell them what they were doing(Me included)But to no avail. They just carried on regardless.

  2. I thought i would finally get around to putting some pics up of the finished article.....

The rubbing down process took an entire day with a mixture of usingan electric sander for the real flaky stuff. And some small sanding blocks. In actual fact. I did the whole vehicle with just two. Really impressed with them and not bad at £2.99 a pop.

Painting then took place over the following day. And the end result was this............

I was quite pleased with the end result.

  3. I've been here since last Thursday & don't agree about most places being beyond saturation levels.. it is drying out, there are areas I think they won't be able to use but they have plans in place.. there are people turning up all the time with vehicles & setting up camp.. some won't brave the weather but I think there will still be a very good turn out.. If we took notice of the weather all the time in this country we would never do any shows..

In 2007 we had plenty of mud & rain.. still a good show..

We didn't have rain on this level.it,s rained constantly since the end of April. The 2007 show it rained midway through the week. The ground was bone dry before that. With areas restricted what fun will it be for those attending?. Great if you just want to park up for a week and chat.

  4. Maybe Paul it's because I have been doing the shows so long that I am no longer willing to put up with the crap weather lol. I hope you all have a good time and make the most of it. I will be down on Sunday to pick the Ferret up. But you will see me heading in the other direction down the 7 mile lane.lol

  5. I have had reports back from people that have been there this morning that said in most places the ground is beyond saturation level. Coupled with the fact the weather forecasts have rain for the next few days, come the weekend when the bulk ofof the vehicles turn up the whole place will be a nightmare. The only hope is if it were to stop raining for the next week at least. Which ain't going to happen.

  6. Well just looking at the pics and seeing the weather forecast tonight and the news that there is no let up in the rain forthe next few weeks then after 25 years this may be one year that I give it's miss. Nothing worse than sitting in a rain sodden mud fillled field for a week. Despite the interest in MV,s I could think of better places I would rather be.

  7. The Typhoons were up yesterday on simulated CAP at 16.30 over South London. And then again at 21.30 last night. This time they went over the house with full afterburner.Looked great against the night sky.

  8. Well show season for me is nearly upon me with my first show being the Overlord show. Bought this LtWt last month.....

And although a very nice example the paint can do with a freshen up.It was painted two years ago,and has slightly faded with time since then.

Now i cant really use a spray gun as the work will have to be done in the open. So i was going to paint with a roller and brush. Its already been done with a roller before, and the results have been quite good. What i would like to know from people that have done it this way before. Whats the best rollers and paint to use??.
