I first came across this a few years when I ran an ex club racing zx7rr (motorbike!) for trackdays - being a race bike it has no fan and was overheating whilst waiting in the pit lane, another rider recommended it to me and i bought a couple of bottles but never added it... Have often wondered if it would work in mv's!!

Deffo worth a try with the pulse charger - i have had 10 year old hawkers come back fine after a few days on charge, and still hold it provided they get a top up now and again - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. As for new Hawkers for £100, if you can get them for that I'll have ten and I'm not kidding! For that price you'll probably get chinese lead acid copies which rarely seem to last more than 2 or 3 years, but they do serve a purpose I guess. The nearest civvy equivalent ive found is the odyssey pc2250 agm, which retail at £4-500 each! Ive known a couple of people who just use good chunky car batteries though which seem to do the job fine....

Thats a shame - tis a good price for sure!

Bran dragovic had a very nice well sorted one, but I think the gun was deac... Richard Wilson has one on milweb but its a project and no gun... Jez Brinicombe had Jim Davies old one for sale but might have sold now - it was 70-80% completed and the work done by Jim was to a very high standard, it also did have a live gun but not sure if it still has. I bought mine on a bit of a whim but it has really grown on me - great vehicles!!

Really interesting - boy did that 432 go down fast....!

Warrior was discounted as a replacement coz it was too big... Quite how a multi billion pound procurement ends up with something heavier Im not sure!!! However, it is what it is now...

EXCAVATIONS CONTINUE
Polish authorities are continuing preparations to excavate the buried railway siding, with trees and shrubs covering the mound set to be cleared.
The train is said to be buried under 12 metres of rubble and soil in what used to be a siding carved out of a hillside, not a secret tunnel as initially reported.
Ahhh, all clear now..!
-
But why would you dig down? Surely the easiest way would be to follow the line of the tunnel until you find the entrance then open it up from there? All a bit fishy....

Afvhandbooks.com have the technical description on cd. Mark at Green Machine will have the user manual and the illustrated parts list, both of which are very useful. These will give you enough to cover most of the maintenance requirements. I've personally never found a readily available source for Saladin EMERs but would be interested if anybody does!
Edit - lo and behold I follow Clives guidance and there it is on the Green Machine website!

There is no mention there of the painting technique which had been applied to my Spartan when I first got it (ex CATC BG Warminster) - namely driving through several deep muddy puddles then slapping paint on with a yard broom! Now stripped and repainted, although I have decided to just patch paint my Sabre, and will probably leave the 'starter motor iffy' graffiti on the front bin...

Jim Davies from Derby was making these. They are not stainless but are exact replicas of the originals, including the internals. I have one, but want to keep it as a spare. He is on here as Fugly.

Good effort - glad to see the CVRT's didn't let the side down!!

Dremel with cutting disc - if you're careful you should have enough control to remove the head without damaging the plate - worked on my batt box lids....

Nice work! You've done better than me if the brakes worked after 4 hours...
The West Freugh link is interesting too - no idea why they would need a Saladin up there..!

I recently struggled through American Sniper, which I'm afraid I thought was complete and utter tosh. I've also just finished Beevor's Ardennes 1944, which was as usual very readable...

Seems to be a popular topic at the moment!

Numerous examples of this vehicle have been registered without a problem. As previous poster said Andrew is your man.

Looking good Chris - funny how these events make the most memorable shows! Petrol rescues diesel eh? I bet it wasnt just the heat from the engine making Andy sweat! Quick questions 1) is the fan the same on the diesel? 2) did you disconnect the drive shafts or not feel the need?
Oh, and what on earth is the german fella going to do with all those cvrt fans!?

Ok heres a few bits and pieces. ODA is Ordnance Depot Antwerp ie storage. Most of the units are self explanatory, ie RTR is Royal Tank Regiment, 5 Inniskillen Dragoon Guards, BATUS is British Army Training Unit Suffield in Canada, QOY is Queens Own Yeomanry. BLMF MNGB is Banja Luka Metal Factory. This was the main base for MNGB (Multi National Forces Great Britain), part of Operation Resolute which was the deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina to support the implementation of the Dayton Accord. Hope this is helpful...

This place seems to have at least one if you search gibraltar...

With apologies to the op (!)...it would seem that the famous quote is actually a misquote...

As for the badge have you tried the british militaria sales page over on that horrible FB thing?

For the uninitiated, Scorpole was the programme by which the latest mods and upgrades were incorporated into the Scorpion fleet ie once done a vehicle was classed as 'Scorpoled'? I think I read somewhere the Chieftain equivalent was Bargepole?
Looks like this vehicle has been around a bit - I have some translated vehicle histories at home which will help so will have a look when I get in...

My experience of reviving Hawkers is that if they come out of a vehicle, a good pulse charger will often bring them back, say two out of three times. A couple of years ago I bought six from withams and only managed to recover one! So personally I wouldnt touch em with a bargepole!
Fourfox told me that if you overcharge the hawkers it creates cavities in the gel and hence knackers them, seems perfectly plausible...
