  1. yup first time it took me 30 plus hours to get engine out .
  2. take our g/box, remove fans, clutch, starter motor .aux genset if in ,exhaust, oil tank. remove oil cooler line . there is a pice of channel that engine covers sit on neer the fighting compartment that will also need to be removed, unbolt engine lift out . there is some pics of me pulling out my engine http://centurion-mbt-two.synthasite.com/page-18.php about half way down and my mate getting some spares for his tank http://battle-tank.tripod.com/battletank_page_4 and http://battle-tank.tripod.com/battletank_page_11

  4. thanks andy so are all threads on the 43s in unf ? when did afvs convert from bsf ? is i am having so much dramas trying to get bsf bolts in aus for my cent cheers adrian
  5. hi all since someone pinched my manual in transit to Australia i am trying to find out what is the correct sag allowed on the tracks? , what thread is the nuts for the track pads . and track pins ? cheers Adrian

HI all well i have just received my 432 out of quarantine and someone has nicked my manual for it . i was wondering can you run it on just kerosene or does it have to be a diesel mix ? the only reason i ask is that at work we have about 2000L of kerro that they want to get rid of as we have no more use for it . i have read a lot about contam fuel but there is not a lot written about kerro used on its own. some people say its ok others say don't touch it . bearing in mind that i cant get a spare pack in Australia and it will take 2+ months to get a replacement engine from the UK cheers Adrian
  7. they are the same length as a meteor i think the problem is going to be is doing the dry sump set up and getting the crank low enough to line up with the g/box as i am not going to cut the floor out

  9. hi all after all my dramas with my centurion i have just found some cracks developing on the engine mounting block. i will fix them but i am thinking of re powering the cent to a diesel like a Detroit 8v92t or something like that. I want to save the meteor as i can not get a spare in AUS. anyone out there attempted this ? anyone got any ideas ?. i was driving the cent regularly and i cant afford another failure like i have had . cheers Adrian
  10. thanks mate is it possible for someone in the uk to give him a call for me ? i go on to night shift for the next 4 weeks and i dont think he will answer his phone at 2am uk time and that would be the only time i can call. cheers

  13. Hi all i have been told that chieftain road wheels are the same as the centurions is this true ? if so does anyone know were any are for sale as there is no road wheels for my cent left in Aus cheers adrian
  14. it will cost me about $200 au to make the first mold . there are so many burnt out cars up the bush with melted engines and alloy rims so i get all the material for free. cheers
  15. Hi i am planing to investment cast in aluminium as i have done a lot of this making replica rifles etc there is some dummy's for sale on the net but it would cost way to much to get them to AUS and the dramas with dealing with customs would be a nightmare . cheers

  17. Hi mate your on the money when it comes to why it failed . i have had her for 2 years and driven it for about 15 min . who was the the person that you know that used to own a cent ? i probably know them . cent owners are a small group in AUS cheers

Hi all last September i took my centurion for a bit if a run and had massive clutch failure. resulting in a clutch in a million pieces . two destroyed radiators and fans ,coolant rail beyond repair and a fair bit of engine damage . i was in 4th gear doing about 2000 rpm . has anyone seen damage like this or had it happen to them them ? i am still trying to get her up and running for the next show in september so i am on the hunt for parts and time to fix her cheers Adrian

My name is Adrian. i have been meaning to join the HMVF for a while but have been to flat out trying to get my MK5/1 centurion going and now that its too cold to work in the shed i have pulled my finger out and joined . i am mostly interested in tracked vehicles . i have a centurion (witch keeps me poor ), FV432. international f1 6x6 ,series 3 land rover . i am looking forward to talking with you all cheers Adrian
