Anyone know where to get good replacement axe handle from. Read that modern ones are broader and don`t fit the profile of the jeep body very well. Also how to fit. Any info greatly appreciated.

Hi chaps.
Anybody know of a source for GPW speedometer parts, in need of bezel and glass as mine are pretty much destroyed.

They are combat split rims but if you look at the horizontal part of the rim they have a small bevelled step about halfway in, these do not have this. Will try to get a pic when i get chance.

Anybody know if its possible to straighten buckled combat rims and if so who can do it. Also 2 of my old wheels have no bevelled rim just a flat surface, any ideas about there origin as haven`t seen this type before ?

Anybody know where i can get individual earth leads for my 44 GPW. Suppliers only seem to do the sets at silly prices. I,m sure if it fits a jeep they double the price!

Cheers Gerry, its nice to have a little of the jeeps history. Mine had none at all as the original chassis number had almost dissapeared. It wasn`t until I had it shot blasted that I found it restamped on the rear cross member.

Hi there. Heres a problem i have which jeep owners may have encountered. Fitted new AP clutch kit to jeep but having difficulties with adjustments. Measured fingers to 27/32" or 21.43mm but distance between bearing and pressure plate is too large. Cable adjustment is at maximum and clutch fork hits bellhousing opening before it engages. Been told that pressure plate is preset but then told it should be set on flywheel!
Checked all parts for excessive wear but seem ok. Old clutch seemed to work ok but had a hairline crack in pressure plate face which is why i`m changing it. Noticed that the bearing is 2 to 3mm thinner than previous. If they get thinner each time i don`t suppose it would help. Why do the fingers have to be set at the specified gap or is there room for adjustment? I think the problem lies with the clutch kit itself rather than linkages. Getting tired of taking box off engine PLEASE HELP!

jeep engine rebuild
in American Vehicles

Lost oil pressure on my mb engine but didn`t notice and think I may have knackered it. Anyone had any good experiences with specialist engine builders. I live in Birmingham but will travel if needed as I want it done right. What sort of price should I be expecting for a complete rebuild?
Any help appreciated.
