  3. Well spotted Rich, I have never seen any dates on any of my Brit kit, wish it was dated though:(
  4. Hi mate. Sorry can't add any info about this Parka, but I can only admire it, very nice piece.
  5. Very Nice quality piece of kit there Mate;)
  6. Hi . Sorry to jump in so late on this ,but the green leather sweat band and general look of this lid, is a unique feature of Argentinian M1 lids, generally the Argentinian's used US Liner's with their own webbing and swaetbands..hope this helps'
  7. Very nice piece of Op Granby kit mark, nice one!!
  8. yeah just a bit, took many attempts to get the right look, but worth the efffort, as I got some really positive feedback from the "experts"!!
  9. More cool work,I have been known to try corking on occasions myself:D
  10. The US Pasgt lid,is pretty comfy once it it is adjusted properly. Czech VZ 58 , very comfy lid in use. French F1,very comfy lid in use. I agree with the comments about British Tin lids, very uncomfortable, and tend to flop about
  11. Mine never was comfy, maybe I have a weird shaped head:cheesy: I taped the straps up too, and even added a bit of padding in the crown ,but still never felt comfy!!
  12. Hi Andy. I like the look of your Parka, thanks for showing it,I will keep an eye out for one for my collection now, I like the features on it..cool Parka;)
  13. Thanks for the welcome, it's good to be here;)
  14. Hi ,thanks for the welcome, glad to be on Board;)
  15. British Mk 6 Helmets should be ruled out too, wearing these lid's is like, having your head in a vice,I have yet to meet anybody who said it was/is a comfortable lid to wear;)
  16. Thanks for the advice and confirmation Enigma, I'm off to France at the end of the week, but when I get back,I'll certainly post more of my lids, you never know, I might get some new ones in France to add to my collection and to show here, cheers Gary.
  17. That's fantastic John,I'm well chuffed with this info, and for the swift response!!! Many thanks, the mystery is solved ...great info...cheers:D
  18. Hi. I have a 68 pattern Jacket ,which is nice in it's self, but it has a patch on the arm ,which appear's to be original to the Jacket. I would be very grateful if anyone could ID it for me, so far the only suggestion I have , is it maybe an Engineers Patch ??? Any ideas,or suggestions would be cool. Thanks in advance Gary:-)
  19. Thanks Enigma. I have suspected for a long time the fixed bale may be a Schlueter, but there is no S, and no Heat stamp apparent, and without really stripping the paint right out of the inside ,I guess I will never know? The other lid has a heat stamp of 34?C, with makes this one quite early I suspect. I did find out a while back that because there is a dimple, where the swivel bale is now,it was once a Fixed bale, and converted to this way !!! I have a few more F/S lids ,so when I get time I will post them up for you to have a look at,if you want. Thanks again
  20. Thanks for looking Enigma:-D Your right the black lid is a Korean war Mk 4 ,the Tankers helmet is a Royal Marine Pattern, which was based on the RAC MK 2 ,with the Mk 5 liner attached, the type that would have been worn by RMC in the Falklands conflict. Thanks again for your comments
  21. Hi. For me it's got to be US M1 Helmets from WW2-Vietnam,the amount of adjustability was far superior to British lids, and still is come to think of it,the materials were superior, the fact they had a separate liner, was a bonus. The list is endless!!! I like collecting Brit lids too,but if you compare the two ...US lids are always going to win hands over..well that's my personal opinion anyway, good question BTW. Cheers Gary:-)
  22. Hi everyone. Here is Some German,Swiss, and Bulgarian,Swedish and a British CD Helmets from my collection,as ever all comments or questions will be most welcome:-D
