  1. A ha...... fantastic looking model of the Pinkie, cheers Artists........ for pointing it out. I have been after a Pinkie model for some time but have until now been only able to find 11a versions. any one know of a model of an early spec 11o pinkie like mine?

Any one know what the brass etching malrky is all abot, is it assembled just like the plastic, I have never used it and would be nervous of ruining a £75 model......

As to know it alls. When the pinkie is at a show, it is amazing how many people were apperently in the SAS and used these, yet they are keen to point out where I have gone wrong. I always keep copies of Pics so I can educate them in the error of their ways. I am always very kenn to hear from people that really do know about my beast, and will always willingly accept constructive critiscm, but I find it hard to tell who is tellong the truth some times, though other times it is glaringly obvious!!! :dunno:

  2. mmmm I am often found down Brighton drinking with my mates....... looks like we shall have to organise a get together, (especially if this cute 24 yr old is involved ;-))

I will even bring the Pinkie and park it in the street for you!!!! Could be an awsome house warming party :-D

  3. I dont think they were very interested, but they did take my details and left it that if they needed any further info they would be in touch :?

I got the impression that they didnt really understand the law, and wanted to disapear and look it up. They :?were told I was Parading around with BB guns ect, and so turned up mob handed, two police cars full for litlle old me.......

When I informed them of what I was up to, I offered to take them out to it and show the offending article, but they didnt want to see it, they radio'd it in and raised the question about the tax having run out, but I shot that idea down when I informed them that it was a private road........ :-D

  4. mmmmm.... Just had a visit from the police, one of my neighbours obviously didnt think it was so awsome, they have told the police that I was driving around the estate at the end of my road in cam gear, with the vehicle loaded with weapons, where as in fact i drove the vehicle out of my gate onto a grass verge which forms part of the private road that runs out past my gate, took the cover off of the gympie, took the photo,s, put the cover back on the gympie, turned it around (still in the private road) and drove it bach into my gate..... I was wearing jeans and tee shirt..........

    Some people!!! >:( >:(

So there you go, any questions, just ask.....

  6. well, been to see it and........ O dear, the Vendor was a tad optomistic when he described it as rot free.......

The bulk head would make a good tea strainer and I spentr half an hour under it, finding hole after hole after hole.......

So, if anyone knows where a reasonable one is for a reasonable price, let me know.

  7. cheers sean, Great photo's.

I use to aown a civvie 1966 series 11a, that I sold because my mother gave me grief....

I still to this day regret selling it, as I didnt need the money when I sold it, and I loved pootling about town in it......

Since then 11a prices have seemed to have sky rocketed, I bought the last one with no MOT for £100, needing a small amount of work, the now seem to go for £200 - £400 for complete basket cases :schocked:, well out of my reach for just a fun vehicle....... Until this buety came up......

  8. ok, found the piccies of Saracenstumps 11a at the Gunpowder mills.

    this raises more questions.

The one I am looking at also does not have bumperettes and it does not have the rubber door stops in the wings.

Is this from service or has it been mucked about with?

I would have said that it was a cl, but I have never heard of a CL being 24v or fitted as a FFR.

It does have the oil cooler fitted and the bonnet clips, and the threaded holes in the rear tub for the side arms.

  9. Total bummer Paul - seems to be trend in MV owning circles right now - or at least those MV owners on the forum..... :schocked: :schocked: :shake:

well those of us that has a Girl in the first place......

  10. I a mgetting itchy feet now the pinkie is nearly finished and after reading Artists resto, I am gonna get one of my first loves.

I have always loved the later 11a landies (somthing to do with this is what my dads rover was), and now there is one available...... it is the one on Milweb, I am off to see it this week, so hands off al of you..... tis mine.

But ity has raised a few questions.

It is a 1969 24v ffr LWB, but has a civvie rear cross member, and civvie headlights, and no sign of the two electrical connectors in the rear body tub (were the two electrical connectors still fitted at this point or had it switched to a single one on the cross member like the series 111).

I realise that the headlight surrounds and the cross member could have been changed, but they both have gloss green on them followed by Nato, is it possible that it was actually in service like this?

Where should the data plate be on one of these giving its military reg?

Which radios would have been fitted, it left service in 1982, when did clansman come in?

at what point did they paint nato green on the vehicles?

Anyone got any pics of one of these restored?

it has a large step welded to the rear cross member much like the piglets, is this a post mod mod, or could this have been done for northern Ireland?

    Cheers.

  11. Not easily,

It first involves me remembering that I want one when a vehicle has been signed out to play ...... and as I have not yet got an FMT600 I generally only get to sit in the back as being short I usually loose the fight :schocked:, and trying to get to take my test is painful to say the least!!! :dunno:

It is easier to just get a copy from you!! :-D
