  4. thanks aagin for the info. The evidence I have 41 KC 34........ A build up of paint here the front wing GRP would have gone. loads of hole filled in on the body work ( sorry about the light, it was fading fast) and i think this maybe the hle ruxy was on about? but there is no underside mods at all. making a kit could be something for the future! maybe! Thanks again Alex
  5. Martin, good thinking Robin, it's 41 KC 34 In NI from 1986 till 1990. As the 90/110 was about from 1984 I don't think it would have seen much use, but it has the holes in the correct places to suggests a VPK being fitted. Cheers Alex
  6. Thanks for the info there Richard, nice to hear from someone who fitted them! Cheers Alex

  10. Cheers Andy It's made up of 3 block like things, first one has the red and green lights, a dial switch with 12 settings (cores in a cable) then 2 blocks with all the different cable ends on them. It's all in a nice bag too. If that helps!! Alex
  11. Hello all I have a clansman cable tester. I know it is fairly straight forward to use, but any one out there got or know where to get a manual for it? Can't seen to find one anywhere! Cheers all Alex

  13. A RAF falklands veteran at work bought his pictures in for me The RAF EOD blokes (whom he was a part) had a Bedford and two series 3 station wagons with red wings and rear quarter panels, he landed on red beach I believe when the war was on. Also in the back ground of some of the pictures in Ajax bay where 101 ambulances, don't know how much they where used as most casevax was by air or foot. Cheers Alex
  14. Hello all When I bought my unitry radio station for my lightweight it didn't have anything in the bottom part of it! So a friend lent me a bottom tray and I copyed it The only bit I'm missing now is the Spilage tubs Pictures of my radio set up is in my intro, but I will try and get on the computer and upload them again for this thread Rover8ffr in Gloucestershire? Same here! Cheers Alex
  15. Hi, I have been collecting the clansman family of British army radios for a year now. So it's taken me a year to get to the standard it is now (second photo down). Using that photo I will explane what's in there! All the radios etc... Are mounted on the unitary radio station, which was designed to fit on to the airportable land rover or be removed from a rover and be used as a stand alone radio station. So... Left to right First radio is the PRC (personal radio comms) 352 VHF manpack radio, which in this case is mounted in a vehicle. Next to that is the charging unit for the 352's battery it's called the DCCU (direct current charging unit) Then mounted on the table is the VRC (vehicle radio comms) 321. It's a vehicle mounted HF radio, 2-30 MHz and on top of it is tuning unit. Mounted next to that on the table is the VRC 353. Again a vehicle mounted radio but this time covers the VHF range. Mounted on top of the 353 is a DMU (digital master unit). The DMU was produced to make the 353 a "secure" radio (no one can unscramble it unless you have a DMU on the other end). The system is called BID 250, no idea how it works!! Mounted on the roof left to right Is a antena matching unit that connects one of the VHF radios to the antena. Then the commanders box & commanders personal unit & headset that's part of the basic intercom I have in there ( just for a bit of fun realy) Then two speakers and mounted behind that is a penthouse light. I'm no expert at this subject, it's just what I have picked up over the year I've been buying radios. So forgive me if it's flawed in any way! Hope I've explaned more than I've confused you! I'm more of a practical person than an academic.!!! Cheers Alex
