  1. So am I Jack, Just wish Westdown camp would pull there fingers out and give me some good news on the camping side of things. Could we have an up date on whos coming along, I have lost count. One to many WKD vodka blues
  2. Caravan should be ok Ash, Iv got the paint ready
  3. Plenty of room mate. The Army use this place to unload all there vehicle when EXC are running. The concrete hard stand can take upto 10 low loaders. Tracked vehicles should be OK will be nice to have a tracked vehicle in the convoy FV432 or FV434 bring them both if you wish. :yay: :yay:
  4. I'm sure we can have a caravan, we can pretend its as a first aid post if anyone asks. Mind you, you dont want to be draging that around the ranges all day  . Also we could always paint it bronze green.
  5. Hi Guys Sorry to inform you that there will be a five pound charge per vehicle. This is for the whole weekend but if this should change I will let you know strait away. The charge is so we can camp on military land. I have sorted out the cost of the the licence which the Plain Military team will cover. All the details are with the MOD at the mo and awaiting some sort of approval. The worst thing that could happen is an exercises running that weekend which they do tend to do from time to time. To some of use this would be a great time to get to see some modern stuff but it would restrict us from moving around the ranges. It is this that seams to holding every thing up at the mo. I will be hearing from Westdown hopfully some time this week so fingers crossed. There is a new location for the camp site, Its at Carter barracks just out side Bulford camp. This place is massive with plenty of room for some more vehicles if you know of anyone else that would like to come over for the weekend. The licence will allow us to govern the site without any interference form the MOD and Police. The question about arrivals has been brought up and to be quite monist with you I think the best thing is come on the Saturday morning. If everyone is in and tented up we could go for a short trot out later. This will give you a chance to have a look at the tracks. If anyone would like to bring a footy ball or some cricket gear we have a massive hard standing that we could put to use. We have sorted out a big BBQ for Saturday night just trying to find someone to cook with out giving us all food poisoning. We are moving forward even if it is slowly but we will get there. hope to see you all soon. Tony
  6. You are not being a kill joy by no means, everyone has a right to there say, thats life. The Gov't being first on the front line gets my vote
  7. Many many thanks to you all I know this means alot to the families of the fallen. Maybe one day it will all be over and threads like this will be a thing of the past. Thankyou again
  8. The following was sent from M Mortimer, Secretary, 42 Regt RA Old Comrades Association. I am not aware if you know that any Service personnel killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, their families have to pay for an Inquest. This is because the Government will not award the families Legal Aid. This petition to No10 is to try and get them to change their minds, they need as many signatures as possible to highlight the cause for change and help the bereaved families. Let's face it our lads get no recognition whatsoever from this Government, we need to fight back for them. Click Link to Help: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ForcesLegalAid/ I know a lot of folk out there don't believe in the two wars but the squaddies haven't a choice: They are there because they are told to be. Over the past few years I have spoken to a lot of lads that have served in both Iraq and "Ganny", they still can't get their heads around the bashing they get from certain circles and the press. Sorry for being a party pooper. Tony
  9. I love those beasties. Are there any LSVs on the show circuit
  10. Hi Ian Well you can turn up any time you want. That side of the visit is ready. The thing in the Army are running a massive training exercise at the mo and everyone is out the office. We are trying to get some nice surprises in place but it all depends on the Army. Apart from Imber village the rest of the ranges are open so we can go anywhere within reason. One of the lads here is putting a history sheet together for you all, and just got confermation that we have got the fire cover for the visit. Progress is quite slow and I would like it to be a bit quicker but every thing is up in the air what with training. We have two guys from Westdown camp working on the toilets for us so that look good. They all know you are coming and seem happy with it no one has objected about it yet. Just waiting on the top brass to give his concent about the camp site. There is something else I have to tell you but I will keep it under my hat for now. I will give you the heads up as I know more. Tony
  11. Still waiting for a reply from the MOD about the camp site. According to Westdown I should know early next week. Sorry for holding things up.
  12. Cool, Is that the same DPV that came to the Boscomb down open day back in 2000. Recognize the scud kills on the wing. We need more pinkies for the SPTA visit.
  13. Are any of these coming to the Salisbury plain visit. I love the look of these beasts.
  14. Sorry your not coming Andy maybe next time. Chaps I do have some bad news. Imber will not be open on the visit dates. Im very sorry but it is totaly out of my hands. We are making great progress with the camp site and toilets. I should be able to let you know more Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I did get a chance to speak to range security yesterday and the Impact zone will be open but this can change at a drop of a hat so please bear with me on this one. All the lads and myself at Plain Military would like to thank everyone thay is making the trip down for this visit and we hope you enjoy your stay. We have started work on the roots we will be taken. We are trying to crame as much as possible into the two days. Hope to see you all soon. Tony
  15. Hi Ash What school would that be Castle down? Sounds like a Blake story but then again there were alot of scallies back then. Most of them have moved away so don't worry about anything going on walk about when you all come down. The CVD has now closed and everything has moved up north. 28 REME are now in one part of the sheds. The rest is sitting empty. The old courage depot was our main hit many a night till they got a great big dog and a man with a stick. Tony
  16. Sorry I ment March having a blond moment and its not 1 & 2 RTR but just 2 RTR
  17. Sorry what is Jack or the excersise. The exc is all over the tele down here and in the local rags. Thats how we find out about most of the going ons around here. They have to print it due to the amount of military vehicles useing the local roads. Lugdershall looks more like down town Bagdad during big EXCS. We had Warriors driver training through the village last week. 8 of the sods running up and down the road day and night for the whole week. It can become abit of a strain when you are trying to watch Life on mars with that going on out side. But hay ho they have to train some where. Tony
  18. Im new round these part and I must say I am starting to notice a common tread going on here involving Jacks sexual tendenses. Whats he like when it comes to Wild life, will they be safe. It wont worry the sheep they are used to it, its a loanlly place on the ranges at night. Well thats what iv been told anyways  Can we have a smiley sheep by some chance? just for use moon rakers. Tony
  19. OO Not fussy then. As long as he dont go chasing the sqaddies around the ranges. Its a shame your not down on the 10th of feb to the 21st. We are having one of the biggest excersises ever held on the ranges. 6000+ troops 1MECH DIV, 1 & 2 RTR, Prince Harrys lot and loads of Helis and fast jets. Should be a good one.
  20. Jack is there something your not telling use
  21. O well worth asking. Watch her she borrowed my bike and never brought it back. I fill like a trip to the tower may be on the cards.
  22. let me think about that one. You could always leave it with use we will look after it.
  23. I was talking to Chris about this just the other day, to be frank with you will have more a chance of finding rocking horse droppings. The MOD and the Wild life trust have sealed the Impact zone up tighter than a duck rear. The thing is Bovington has salvage rights to anything of interest on the ranges and even they have to go throught the Wild life trust, RSPB and MOD to get out there. Would you bring it if I came over and pushed all the way to the ranges  Tony
  24. UMMMMMMMMMMMM  Stolly I just love licking stollys all over. OK maybe I should get out more but its no where near as bad as what I do to Chally2s. Has anyone got a Sarecen and salidan at hand now that would look good having all three big 6s together on the ranges. I thing the Army are going to be shocked when this lot turn up on there door step. :yay: :yay: :yay: Tony
  25. Would anybody mind if I asked another group along, I have in mind the EMLRA? I know some of you guys hang out here and the more the merrier. Tony
