  1. I'm not sure but think that most of the trickery for ANR is in the headset itself.  The important thing is that the headset must receive power from the harness (a non-ANR one doesn't need it) so the interconnecting box 7-pin sockets are wired to do so.  You also need to use a green pressel as the old black ones don't have the internal wiring to pass power to the headset.

Obviously following the current rules of military vehicle ownership: every vehicle must have a radio aerial and fly a flag from it irrespective of whether said vehicle ever had a radio fitted in service.

... and if it's a landy, as many as you can cram on the vehicle, all with 4m whips.  🙂

  3. Thanks John, I think I can carefully re-use the old fittings and put them on the NOS FV600 conduits that I bought back in 2015.  These seem to be a compression fitting similar to a hydraulic hose, so I've managed to free them by cutting off the old sleeves.  I'm still not sure how to replace the sleeves but I'll probably try gluing the fittings on and using heatshrink to tidy up the outsides.  Once painted the replacements will be undetectable.  I need to do all the front and rear sidelight/indicator conduits as they have been comprehensively mangled.

I'm currently looking to see where I put the old conduit with the 804-1058 so will get back to you on that if I may?

What bemuses me though, is that bearing in mind the number of these conduits present on old MVs, am I really the first person to address the issue?

I’m guessing the clamps were removed and they’re just held in by corrosion?

Agreed - it's a common issue with periscopes on FV430s.  If they're badly stuck you may need to destroy them to get them out.
