Always fancied an M201 myself , in French camo and dressed appropriately I think it would make a pleasant change on the mv scene, I see there are now a few re enactors portraying 1950’s French army as well. I did start collecting the appropriate uniform for this, but even M201’s are now expensive.
I think that group is called 'The Fighting French' and they have a FB page. I chatted a bit with one of their members myself as I have an interest in French militaria too.

I guess Brexit won't affect affect visitors/tourists too much as in people with soft skinned vehicles and the like, but for traders it will be a dealbreaker as there will be loads of administration involved and I think most just won't bother.

Welcome!

I cannot understand why the new owner does not open to the public on the sunday-it would give him more chance to take gate money if the sat is a washout.
For the simple reason that a lot of the MV people come from abroad and have other things to do on monday, and so sunday's visitors were greeted by a lot of empty pitches and vehicles moving out. That's why a few years ago it has been decided to start & end the show a day earlier.
That being said I had a great time, stayed the whole week and walked the stalls every day. Around noon I would go back to the camp and sit out the heat for a few hours in the shade, with a drink and a book or just napping and back to the stalls after that. I did notice the already mentioned decline in numbers compared to a few years ago, and I hope this is just a transition period and numbers will go up again.

I guess they can put it in their Terms & Conditions to which you agree by entering the event, but it's a completely theoretical exercise as for to leave something behind you need to have actually left... unless they are going to chase you on the way home.
I can't remember I have ever seen rubbish just left at pitches, other than collected piles placed next to the roadways to be collected... or is that what they mean with 'left behind'?

Congratz!
Next month is the War & Peace Revival Show (Beltring) at The Hop Farm near Paddock Wood, Kent. It's the biggest MV & Re-enactmentshow in the world and includes a large market where a lot of parts dealers will be present, and a large number of Dodges will attend too. If you can, I suggest you attend or at least come as a visitor. Bring camera and notebook!

If you can, take a red primer as this was the originally used and it will look better in a few years down the road, when patina begins to show and some of the top layer of paint will wear through.

I don't think I have ever seen this one before?

Thanks Paul but I am not mad, it's just the voices in my head.
Anyway, all's well, the engine starts, revs but I have another problem, the exhaust is toooooooooooo quiet, now I didn't expect that !
Jon
If the local yabbo's are to be believed this can be fixed by lowering the suspension, adding a chrome endpiece to the exhaust and fitting a useless spoiler. A new soundsystem and metallic paintjob are optional but can't hurt either.

There are several models Solex carbs that will work on a jeep but were used on various other cars, if you look around you may find a good original one for pennies!
I'm currently using a Solex that was originally for a 1970's Opel Kadett whilst the original Carter is in pieces on the workbench and the jeep runs just fine on it, and even a bit more economical. It cost me less than €20 but because the choke linkage faces the other was I had to make a small bracket so the cable makes a U-turn. I don't have a list of suitable model numbers but with some research you should find some.

The first Swiss Hetzers were indeed WW2-produced vehicles that were upgraded to G13 spec post-war, but I have no idea if that's the case here. If the hull is WW2-made restoring back is possible but will require an original engine and gun, and probably internal fittings such as radio's, ammo racks etc.

It is listed as a post-war G-13 on the Surviving Panzers website.

Great progress!

British contract jeeps were delivered by the factory in standard US OD, so if you want to represent a WW2 British jeep just go with 'MAT 1' (available from many parts suppliers) and British markings.

You could try electrolysis to remove rust, but it also takes off any paint.

Great job!

Axis Track Services just had new track links cast for the Panther they are restoring so it is possible to do?

I personally know only which vehicle I will be taking after the vehicle season starts .
I guess you can just book A vehicle before that date if you already know you're going anyway, and just change the booking later if needed.

They are Belgian I believe. 🙂

Maybe this head was a spare, fitted not at the factory but sometime later?

Great pics! Any with a Fordson WOT 1 (double rear axle) tanker/fuel bowser?
Wanted, WW2 Style US armoured tent

An armoured tent is called a bunker but the most popular US tent is the 'Small Wall'-model that will comfortly house 2 and, if needed, 3 people on cots. They are available as reproduction although I have no experience with these regarding quality.
Example (currently sold out though): https://qmi.be/tentage/us-small-wall-tent.html
