In my opinion, if you're going to go for a later spec SLR you may as well buy one of the dummy SLRs for under £100, it looks the part when mounted in a vehicle, as far as I know they may have been used for positioning mountings in vehicles, used for drill training & the last suggestion was film props, they are cast metal with wood furniture but look the mutz when painted black, or for the older look rub down the wood & re-stain. you can see one in this picture http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/2756/slrcz0.jpg[/img] Cheers Ian

Come on Jack, you'll enjoy the Buckfastleigh show, you know you want to :-D Okehampton camp is really good, you arrive on the friday afternoon, set up camp & spend the evening in the NAAFI, you can have your meals in the cookhouse with the regulars at a reduced rate or eat in the NAAFI, there is entertainment saturday night again in the NAAFI, there are displays of vehicles & militaria all over camp, private collections & military personel displays, a mock battle & a lot more, here's a group of us in september at Okehampton. http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/9800/okegv5.jpg[/img] I'm the 4th one in from the left.

Typical, AJ is RAF, I'll tell you what to do, it wont cost you a penny, write to the RAF museum at Hendon, ask for info on the reg number telling them what vehicle you have, they'll send you a copy of the record card for that vehicle, it will give the in service date etc etc I emailed them, they replied asking for my address, in a few days I had the info, just google RAF museum Hendon then hit the contact us button, it's that easy. sorry I couldn't tell you, but I hope this helps.
