Chappers the Headlight buckets take a standard 5.1/4" sealed beam unit, with or without side light. You will have to modify the bucket to take the 3 detentes that align the glass, and no I've never had to change one.
Cheers for the info Karoshi, both mine are plastic 6v made in the USA by Guide, but both have cracks to the front.
I'll pick 2 up tomorrow.

The No7 set was manufactured by Carnage USA so I'm wondering why it was a French or Norweigan practise??Seem if it was manufactured in the US then it's an american Addition to a truck???
Cheers guys for the info,I've found #ORD6 J7/9 Set No 7. Hoist & Towing parts list is what I'm after, anyone have a copy?????

Chappers, there was a discussion some time back about the original fitment of a No 7 set to a 352, and nobody could say for sure that it was a WW2 practice. It was generally accepted that it was a post war practice and made popular by the French and Norwegians.
Does this mean you've found some evidence ?
In TM-2800 I think it shows a No7 set !!!! used in a chemical vehicle (GMC) Page 250 This is a WWII vehicle manual I think.
The reason I want a No7 set is to add somthing different to my little collection of MV's,I already have a CCKW 353 with winch.

I'll get some oak cut to fit under the base supports,as for the clamping i'm assuming they clamp on like the cargo bed???. Is there a specific place to positoion it in the cargo bed as I've noticed different positions, some mounted to the extreme rear and some mounted touching the drivers end!!!!.
Cheers for the reply

I'm going to try to get away with uping the voltage reg to 12v, the generator on my 352 is pumping out 25 +v so to get 12 isnt a problem .The plus side is as the voltage goes up you need less current so the regs should handle the 12v.I'm going to give it a try over the next week as I've nothing to loose,I can always swop to an alternator in the end.
Has anyone ever tried this before??.

I've been trying for a while to find out if there is a manual for the No7 set as fitted in the rear of a 352/353 but to no avail. No one seems to know about how they are mounted apart from being clamped to the chassis. Can anyone put my mind at rest and tell me where I can get a manual or info about the No 7 set from or any printed info on them for that matter.

Hi all, I've had this Forum recommended to me by someone on this forum, I'm always looking for new sites to pass an hours reading about the Wonderfull part the military vehicles played in the Second World War. I'm a regular user of the CCKW forum and will hopefully pass on what I've learned through experience doing the rebuild of a few military vehicles, and hope you can help me when I get stuck .
I've got a beautifull CCKW353 and Ben Hur trailer all restored to A1 condition,a CCKW 352 undergoing a complete refurb and rebuild This is going to have a No7 set in the rear also an M38A1 jeep.
I've just finished a scratch Engine build for a Dodge WC 51 from 90% new parts and rebuilt and repainted the body.
Hope to have an active part in your Forum
Kind Regards
Steve
