    Please dont do it ......!! a MK is so slow and underpowers as it but with a crane and to move the universal carrier ,,,,, this may be overweight on a mj with a crane as there only 10 ton truck,,, 4 tonner gives it away... i belive the dafs are 11 ton gross if required so can carry more. I think the early ones were 10 ton the later 11 ton gross in dafs, But back to the MK go to Holland no hills there so when you get it going you will be ok,,, lv to see it go up the big hill on the m40 near j6, i WENT UP IN MY LOWLOADER WITH THE T55 ON 6MPH... I bet i would over take you. And if you are running on contam lol pmpl rofl..... is there a place that is just down hill??????? I am not saying speed speed speed but so slow is not safe nower days. 45mph is about there lot 50 killing it a daf will do 62mph flatout at just over 50 comfatable... If i were so bold i would go for a bedford myself to carry the the universal carrier .But it would be a TM,,,,,,, POWER HOUSE,,, 8 tonner with crane ,500 engine huge power hills no problem do 75mph if you dare 55mph comfatable with fully loaded. TM way forward,,,,!! SO YES BEDFORD OVER DAF,,,,,,,,,,if its a TM for that sort of load

  3. I found the cummins to be far better, torque not talk.

    Start off rev up to 1800/2200rpm change up still with lots of grunt 555ftlb at 1600rpm ish will rev to 3250 if needed. yes it is not as fast top speed you can fit 1600/20 or saracen transfer gearing. And as most stolly miss splutter you never seen to get max power ot torque whan you want it points???? er! electronic better but stil not as smoth running as a diesel.

     

    I HAVE AN IDEA

    Fit a fwd diesel (escort or similar)engine above the gearbox turn the bevel boxes for the dowety drives to face the gearbox of the engine you have fitted ,make some props up to connect the engine and box to the bevel box.. you have a diesel powerd dowety use the gears to get the right drive speed.. simples!

    cheaper to run in the water, as you will only run it in the water you could not bether with a rad use the water your in pumped rounf the engine.

    cummins v bedford daf1

    5speed v box 4 speed daf2

    tilt cab v fixed cam daf3

    permenant 4wd v rear selactable 4wd daf4

    pas v non pas daf5

    Price value??? daf6

    looks bedford1

    daf faults front tow hitch on a daf is very far back makes it hard to push things with a stright bar as you damage bumpers. as far as bedfords bomb proof em,,, my friend has a mk, first problem was a front oil seal turns out the crank had been damaged took lots of work to sort, it also had water pump, alt ,starter ,transferbox .front prop .fuel pump. it a mint truck not many better but was made on a friday. I gave the daf death worked it hard, old bedfords are not in the same league, The test is drive either 100 mile see how you are??? i bet the daf drive will be quieter faster same easier to drive with pas. As far as what is better its the daf. A bedford is a classic army truck but old.

    I just has a look on the HMVF Calender and the show is not on there , Also Milweb events good places to put it up. Also on the MVT website nothing on there either. There are shows listed for 2011 on all sites. Get in first.............! never start too early

  6. Great name change i think its a winner says how it was great idea. Can booking in forms be downloaded from the website?

    What about reenactors. The victory show is based on, are you going to invite any? I understand the MVT about the ss but how does this stand with this show as its not sole MVT. SS were some of the best German troops But yes overshadowed by the camps. This is going to be a great event roll on next year...

  7. There is an option, i have a big american chevy camper its brakes are power brakes ie run off the pas pump to assist easy set up, You can see in the pic the red caps at the rear of the master cylinder this is where the feed is the other red cap is blanked off the return is the pipe on top.

    Master cylinder is just that no big deal, what do you recon????

There is size diff but as you will know a 432 does not have the hearlights mounted on the front like an abbott that may be the extra lenth. as far as wheel spacing it is probably the same as a t54 and t55 weight distribution denoted as i recall they all have 95 pads each side???? as i recall i could be wrong anyone???

    432 mk1 has a massive nbc pack on the side i took mine off as it obscured the mirror vision. This was replaced just with the doors off the box so it didnt look bad. same goes for all the 432 varients most have things hanging off the side.

    FV433 AS I BELIVE IS LOWER GEARED THAN A 432 BECAUSE OF WITGHT. lower max speed

  9. I have been to look at it today and em,,,,,

    Well the ad says the engine and box is with it, yes A engine and box from a firengine is with it. But this truck has never never had an engine fitted. there are no diffs driveshafts exhaust or even a whole for the exhaust to come out of.the engine covers are welded shut or just never made to open. no brakes as they were to be inboard next to the diff. No mounting points for the diffs ,Dash is not conected to anything, It was in a vidio but was being towed the camara came round the back taking pics they stoped then pushed it and more pics to look like it was driving. Its cosmetic but no drivetrain at all there are wishbones and hubs for the wheels shocks and coil springs. no fuel tank. its a shell . I AM THINKING IT OVER BUT THE PARTS TO MAKE IT GO???? em

    but 25k ?
