I quite agree this 'improvement' is retrograde. It is great shame. The old adage of if it ain't broke don't fix it applies here. Jerry
The thing is, it was broken and needed fixing. We had no choice.

It must have been a truck load of work getting the new forum running! Well done.
One bit of feedback..... some members (myself included) have dropped back to a zero post count for some reason?
Sorted now!

Joris. Can we have a default or global setting please for the "notify me of any replies" button so that we don't have to
remember to click on it every time we do a post?
Thanks
Doug
Done!

I will investigate that!

I'll see if I can dig one up, we aren't the only ones using this software.

I am a 79 yr old MV enthusiast and not that computer literate. However, with the old site I could browse the new posts down the side of the page and click on the ones that were of interest to me and ignore the others. Now ,when I look to browse the new posts on the updated format I can only see about six posts and have to scroll down to see if there any that are of interest to me. Is it me not doing something right ? At the moment I feel like kicking it in touch.
At the top left in the tabs you can find the "NEW POSTS" button, that will show you all unread posts.

Good question, we should think about that!

Thanks guys, I appreciate that!
@Mad Scientist you can use the quote button link below any post and then reply to that, you can add quotes from multiple posts to one reply if you want to.
Using the @ you can tag a person, just as I have done with you.

I am sorry but I agree with others. This new foremat is not very user friendly. What was wrong with the old friendly foremat?
The old forum was totally outdated, it needed a new (and pricey) license, we were forced to move it to a new server where it didn't work which would mean weeks of downtime and development costs. On top of that, we had to pay way more money (monthly!).
I'm really disappointed that after all the work we put on to keep the forum running over the years and all the trouble we had moving to this new place to get this feedback.

For your convenience, a new posts button has been added to the menu.

I'll see if I can do that.

If you click on the Unread Content link, which you can find under the Activity tab you will see all the unread content, just like on the old forum.

Thanks.
I think the script to remove the doubles worked a bit too well
I'm on it!

Nice job you and the team have made of the upgrade.
Couple of comments.
It appears very bright to my eyes, could it do with a tone down?
Also Where has the New Posts button gone? Or is it hiding under a new name?
Thanks for the feedback regarding the colors, we will be making some changes to it early next week.
The New Posts button is now called "Activity" and is a the top of this page at the tabs.

Oh no, the Libya-Tripolitania thread now has no photographs! Where have they all gone?
They were there yesterday. Please can this be fixed?
Can you post the link, I will check it out

Our new home comes with an event calendar too but it's rather empty at the moment.
You can add your own events to the calendar by clicking the link in the menu above or use this link:

Nice to see the forum back and a credit to all involved, only thing I'm having trouble is going from one page to another, example is I have a thread in the Motorcycle forum and am replacing some pics from time to time that were stolen by photo bucket, I can open the thread ok but when I try to go to the next page it just seems to be stuck on loading ? anyone have the same ?
Normally I use the private browsing and this does cause problems with some websites so tried it without and still the same, use a Mac book also.
This problem has been fixed.

A British film about British Soldiers, after all the vomit we've seen coming out of Hollywood it seems to me it doesn't get any better than this film.
Sure it has its flaws, but let us be fair, which film hasn't?
