Yeah, it's a nice machine. But it is horribly noisy and for such a big machine there's not much room for the driver. -

hard to say without a pic but is it not possable to fully grind off the head say with a dremmell ,remove the part bolted on and then you have access for small stillsons , mole grips etc ? then weld a nut on once removed to effect a repair this might mean your one off may be a few mm short so just remove any washers fitted

Autohome are a recovery service a bit like the aa or rac but they also do the heavies too, they do horseboxes and commercial recovery and also rates for classic commercial but you have to phone them up.Vehicles up to 3.5ton £93.50.....Vehicles 0ver 3.5Ton up to 16ton £105......vehicles in excess of 16ton (incl drawbar and other articulated combinations) £159..... Recovery anywhere in UK up to £1000 costs (i don't think they cover you if you run out of fuel, Get stuck in snow or soft ground...

Hi Andy , yes it is the disc for Daisy but before anyone laughs I have always taxed her since I bought her as I thought it wouldn't take long to finish her !:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: -

Has anything happened yet?I ask the question because I have just received a tax reminder for my pre 1960 vehicle and it states that I need an MOT test from the 8th of August this year. Does this mean that it is here???

I take it your explorer has been re wired at some point and it's origanal battery isolator switch removed:-( Or is it still sat in the cab doing nothing? I've just re wired my explorer an being an early one it had a set of breakers in the isolator box instead of fuses. They all work too and reset automatically when you turn the faulty circuit off thus saving fault finding time:D
yes its been rewired of sorts its a earlyish mk 1 but with a cummins fitted where floyd has lots of lecky bits in front of the passenger on the bulkhead i just have a wireing harness that has been modded with insulation tape is that were it should be ?
-
thanks, i have a new single pole 1 lying about so ill use that
-
having had a little battery problem on my explorer im going to fit a battery isolater switch to stop them going flat when some idiot (me ) leaves stuff switched on for 3 weeks does it go between the vehicle earth and the earth terminal on battery 1 or between the 24 volt terminal and the out going cable ?? andy

ill be there ,useally thursday night to tuesday morning with my mk 1 explorer
