i see the mk1/2 ferret on ebay did not sell at 6001 pounds , reserve not met ! looked a good one, distance a factor i guess.

stuff called socopac is corrosion inhibiter used on commercial aircraft , i used to work in the falkland islands for a civvy helicopter outfit sharing a hanger with 78 squadron RAF they used to spray their seakings with px24( wd40) for protection against corrosion . ( used to be good for atracting peat dust!)

in the aviation industry there is stuff called alodine and aliprep puts a protective coating on ali, if u found corrosion grind it off treat area and spray paint zinc chromate v good, nasty stuff though!

have looked at the withams ferret now at 2250 quid be interesting to see what it goes for ,as to my untrained eye looks a bit of a sorry state !would prefer to get one that was a runner at least.
