Now will where did you find that ,, Think that the Russians used something like that ,, seen one that was built from an old splitscreen type2 but not a bayThis would get em talking smiler -
,Yeah the auto box is a fairly standard ZF box (ZF4HP22 I think), Land Rovers and BMW's have them. I wouldn't mind knowing what kit they put in though as that sounds interesting....... I've never diasassembled an auto box as always had a phobia about them, so have to do one one day.Apparently the one part impossible to get is the torque convertor as the Pinz one is different.
The MOD ones have the fold down windscreen kit, which one of my fellow Pinz nuts want.
No spanner swinging for me this weekend as negotiating to buy a 6x6 Pinz for some attachments I am wanting, note not needing. The problem with doing car projects, you start looking at accessories
, yes think a few of us seem to have phobias with them auto trans , I've an S class W140 and the box is playing up as it changes into third , but I've a spare box were first has gone and was thinking of swaping first out of one and putting into the other its just knowing which gear is , which supose if i strip one right down if may become apparent ,,
not to sure but think they said that the auto upgraded brake bands parts were from a sprinter type trans

More like "ooh that was a naughty thing to do. So as a punishment you can go on a world crusie, enjoy a holiday and relax. Our troops can go to hell for the few ££ in the tin" :nono:
No I think they should send them deep into the jungle like tony B says , put'em into an old concentration camp in the swet box ,but let them see a tv showinig footage of what it was like in these prison camps , then show footage of the field hospital and the amputations that went on , then show the the vast graveyards to the fallen :argh: then maybe they might understand why there's a popy colection to the ones that survived

hi all , fesm_ndt , Millitary have to deal direct with Puch for parts , even thought brothers boss can get a list of parts 1000s of pounds cheaper
,,parts fitted were new differentials ,
The've just got another one in for repaint and new transfer box to be fitted , He's had two in with low miles that needed auto gearboxes ,, on getting them repaired it was found that the trans are just the same as a saloon car gearbox , so they added stronger internals ,, pic of the one needing the transfer below ,, its got the 5 cylinder 2.4 vw engine , again this is a 1993 ,, learnt something today the reg is classed as the K series and like GB reg would be in 1993/4 = L reg , millitary = KL , , . In the background of the pic is a haglund in for breaking think its got the mercedes 6 cylinder OM602/?? turbo diesel
-
you've done a great job transforming that pinz ,, my brother works at an independent garage doing repairs to pinzgauers , had two 6x6's in not long ago for repairs to the auto trans ,,
here's a 1993 that's still service it'd sat at base for 18 months waiting for parts :-| ,, it's just been in for repaint , supposedly its only got a 1.9turbo diesel , great machine all the same
-
Hi , has anyone been a member of the " British Auto Club Hamburg "
I used to own a left hand drive 50's Mercedes 300 Adenauer Limousine ( nic named after Konrad Adenauer ) and the badge bellow was fixed to the front grill 3" / 75mm diameter ,,
-
great looking project , there used to be an old Case going round the shows in the same condition , the owner just gave it a rub over and washed it with a mix of diesel and oil ,, he had got lots of trophies , much to the disapointment to the folk that had spent thousands on there restored tractors

Dear Santa , I think I've been good even though I've not replaced the front fence or laid some paving flags in the back garden or tiled the fire hearth but there only jobs the wifes asked for ,,
I'll not be greedy and only ask for £10 worth of the jackpot winning loto tickets :-D
-
Will be after one of the hand books if the last owner of mine does'nt have one have to do everything by the book  that'll be a first :-D i'll have a good look at an old rusty hub that came with the munga , think there's a large bucket with a complete hub carrier with king 'n' link pins so will study how its all built
Regards Phil

So after much anquish, frustration and thinking to give up I was offered another one.
So I did what any sane person would do and bought it......
Think i'd have done the same :-D , , no i think it would be insane to drive one of these back from Malaysia To England in this day and age  once upon a time you could have ( fairy tales ) go on tept me how much would a pinz be in Malaysia :-D
-
Hi thats a great looking pinz , these seem to cost quite a bit of money over here , great offroad for getting over moorland , ,, yours looks like a good one ,, what needs doing to it ? does it have the vw 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine ?

Hi Phil,
The Jeep sounds like an M715. Built by Kaiser-Jeep, it was the military variant of the Gladiator -this being the pick-up version of the Wagoneer, predecessor of the Cherokee.
If it is, there's not many in the UK. Nice find!
Regards,
-Roger.
thats great Eugene , just done a search on WIKI and thats the one , they seem to have a large rear hub to hold the half shafts ,, bit of a big pickup ,,, what would the value be for them ,, his is in great condition but the cabs stood at the side , not sure if the engine is about , but going by the axel ratio puting the bedford engine in " will make it no faster than a tractor " :nono: , I'll try find some more about it , think its been in this shed over 30 years  ,,
Regards Phil ,,,

G.P.A. do'nt see many of them , great looking restoration , as for going in the water with the swimer i think you might find once its done that it too will be of great value  , I used to have an argo cat for going into water , was ok but now have a 1972 Raidtrac 418 was said to be prototype ex millitary swamp master , very rare

Hi all ,,,,,, Willyslancs its great when the paint starts to go on ,
I've just fixed up a smaller welder . found on my muga under the seat boxes there's a top hat section of steel that needs to be replaced along with a section of floor ,,,,,,,,,a few used parts came with my munga ,,,,,,,drive shaft ,, hub ,, brake cylinders not sure if they'd work again i was going to strip them down and hone them ,
I just need to find out what parts I might need for mine ,
need to get it jacked up to see if there's any play in the king 'n' link pins , , then need to remove each hub and check if all the brakes are working Windscreen has a crack through it ,so i was thinking of getting a friend that replaces windscreens to cut a new laminated one ,, I've a lady freind that repairs horse blankets , going to ask her to repair the top rear part of the hood ,, I have noticed on one of the doors that there's a number printed on the canvas ,, ,,, might this number be of use to find info amout the munga ?
-
, Thought the price was going up a bit ,, Might know where there I've not done much on the munga this week been putting fordson back together ,
= parents are (looking for munga stuff!)......What sort of stuff they looking for ,,,

Hi Phil, it sounds very much like the type in the middle of this photo.;
Does it have that blue and white bit that looks like a sombrero? Is it a boat?
I recently purchased a similar 18 pint can. It's red with two "ESSO Motor Boat Service" decals on it, but the handle/spout and lid are on what would normally be the side and one end has a folding handle.
Nice polish tin, by the way Phil. I think I've got one without the writing on -had assumed it was for oil, will have to give it a sniff!
Regards,
-Roger.
Hi Roger the tin was just like that , do'nt think there was much left on it other that the fuel companys name ,, I do remember thinking it was odd to have ESSO on the cap but a different name on the side ,, will check it out , friend of a friends got it now , ,, The Brasso type pollish was from the same chap that i got the said Tin from along will a tilley lamps and stove ,,, I was hunting for 50's VW parts it a tumble down shed and at the side there were three of these tins (N.O.S) polish , Will be going back soon to help get some more gear out , there's an American MV jeep in the next shed along with more " tins " I'm not sure what jeep or truck it is But he's got a Bedford truck engine to go in ,, he did tell me the bonnet was the same as a 70's ? Grand Cherokee
-
Hi and welcome , Sorry to hear about your stepdad , that scammell pioneer looks a grand truck and shoud'nt take to long to sell ,, Where abouts does it live

the quality is realy good on some of them , nice and crisp this next one is from WW1 ,, I've had to read this from the glass slide the righting is only 2mm high so dificult and quite a strain on the eyes
notice to the population
in order sufficently to ensure the safety of our troops and the traquility of the population of Rheims the persons mentioned have been seized as hostages by the German Army , These hostages will be shot if there is the least disorder . On the other hand if the town remains perfectly calm and quiet these hostages and inhabitants will be placed under the protection of the German Army
The General Commanding
Rheims 12th September 1914
there is more righting below but is smaller ,( will have to rig the magic lantern up to read more ) , but think its a reply to the above , this is how it starts below
To Ensure The Tranquillity of the Population of Rheims
what is the meaning of "The Least Disorder "?
-
S.S. Trolan or trojan bound for the outer Hebrides ,, detail does'nt look to great will see if i can find a better coppy ,, these slide were found in a building due to be knocked down in the 60's ,,
-
just sold a month ago a can similar to these in white but about 2" taller than the other tins i have ,, ESSO on the cap and BP on the front , best part about it was the handle unscrewed and screwed inplace of the cap for a spout ,,,,,, anyone else seen this type ? , might have been naval ?
some of them caps could do with a bit of Brasso ,
-
I've more than 200 of these slides and the Magic Lantern projector ,, think this pic is what they call the German market ? under German control in the 1500's ?? Bergen The Tydskebryggen , What year might this be ?
-
Got these old woodbury slides some will be of great interest , a lot are dated late 1880's some are quite a bit later , quite a few north of England/Scotland , Norway Vossevangen Eide Rd , all are on Disc but two , will have to dig the others out ,,
I've replaced the pic as it was not to good

My wife's grandfather fought the Pellengahr Division in Norway in 1940, whilst serving with the Green Howards.
He was at Otta during the very heavy fighting there and I'd love to visit the area and see if there's any sign of this heroic, but largely forgotten battle - it seems to have been eclipsed by the action at Narvik.
