  1. Hi David Robertson, thanks for uploading the pictures of your GMC, have to admit yours looks very nice. I believe that there is another Airportable tipper in this country ( but fitted with a closed cab) on milweb, but apart from that one i don't know of any others. Am I right in thinking your GMC was an ex Dutch vehicle? Also what was the wiring like in your cab? As ours looks like a "birds nest"(!). What is the serial number of your truck? Jack
  2. Hi all, does anyone have any coloured photos of the wiring on a GMC near the regulator, on the firewall? Jack
  3. Thanks Jack, still got a little way to go as yet but shes coming there. If you are going to war and peace next year we will see you there, maybe you could let me know if you are going? Jack
  4. thanks 25 pounder, what kind of jimmy do you have and would it be possible for you to upload some pictures of your truck? Jack
  5. Hi all, here are some more pictures of the GMC on her first few outings. This weekend we might start work on the cargo body, first removing all the wood work and then stripping it down Jack
  6. Thanks Jim for taking the time and effot to take those pictures and upload them on here for us, many thanks Jack
  7. Hi all, does anyone have any pictures of the jerry can racks fitted to a 353 GMC with winch? Any pictures or information would be appreciated Jack
  8. Sorry took so long to reply but have been on holiday, no our truck was not fitted with mud guards but did have turn signals Jack
  9. Hi all, here are a few more pictures of the work we did to the GMC in the winter months and also our first show at Ipswich in the jimmy, this winter it will be a case of getting the cargo bed off and getting the winch and tipper mechanism to work and repairing the cab floor Jack
  10. We are searching for a jockey wheel assembly for a 353 Airportable GMC, how easy are they to come by and what sort of price do they command?? Does anyone own an asssembly unit and has anyone got any pictures/diagrams of them? Even if you don't have one for sale any information would be much appreciated, although we own an Airportable tipper we have never seen a jokey wheel assembly in use, or in kit form :-) Jack
  11. Thanks for your comments, although i'm not sure what straps you mean? You say you have not seen a canvas like this before, as far as we are concerned the back curtain on the cab is original, please enlighten us Jack
  12. Thanks private mw and Mark, some real nice comments, heres a few more pics of the work we done to her over the winter months last year Jack
  13. Hi all, thought it was about time that I uploaded a few pics of our current vehicle that we (me and my dad) are restoring, an airportable GMC, the pictures show it when it was delievered to us, if anyone is interested I will upload some more photos Jack
  14. thanks Runflat, i don't suppose that it is still possible to get hold of that article you mentioned?? Jack
  15. thanks abn deuce, the first three numbers of the serial are 488, the picture which i have attached shows its state when we first picked her up last september (its the same truck that was on cckw.org) so since (as you can see from the other photos) she has started to change but still needs some work done, its a dutch return vehicle, am i right in thinking yours is too? Any info you have would be great Jack

  18. Hi all, could someone on here tell me the amount of airportable GMC tippers that were produced and when (as others have told me either '43 or '45), as i have looked on the GMC production thread, am i right in thinking that the airportable tippers would have been produced sometime from Nov '44-May '45?? Jack
  19. thanks private mw, heres a pic of the GMC in its current state with me standing against it on my prom night, when i get some more time i will add some better pics of it and the jeep Jack
