  4. Iv'e just read in this months military machines magazine. That the Bovington tank museum are hoping to build a new 40,000sq ft building intended to provide insulated storage for up to 120 vehicles."The new building will be publicly accessible, making these normally off display vehicles visible to all visitors for the first time ever".Great news.

  6. Hi Enigma,

My HT reportedly came out of a museum in Belgium on out door display.White HT's were never used by the British. So maybe an odd stencil they had knocking about. There's no other British or American marking's other than those on the front of the vehicle.

  7. Thank's for putting the pic's up Ken.As you can see in the pic's the front bumper winch motor guard is missing. It's located just underneath the front bumper if anyone can help.Hi Chris many thanks for the offer of a original bucket bracket, alas i already have one not yet fitted. You can stop pestering me now Rick :D

  8. Hooray,i found the stamped army no today on my HT 4048974 chassis no 276270 which i'm told relates to a build date of May 1943.Most of the outside work is now complete. Now if i can just get the dam thing to run for more than 20 sec's.

I may need your hammer again Ken!!."Not the big one"as it tends to break thing's.:D

  9. Superb show highlights for me was seeing Simon's militant towing the 5.5" Howitzer,& the only complete WW2 Scammell pioneer tank transporter in existence.See wheels & tracks issue 54.This is the only one with it's matching trailer carrying an unlikely load but was sold with the Russian BMP about 15 year's ago quality.Hat's off to the organiser's.

  10. Hi Steve,

I was just making a constructive critisium.I'm in a unique position as been one of the main organiser's of the Ponderosa show,so i know first hand just how hard it is to please everyone. The bottom line is you don't have to speak to people in that mannor & especially in front of joe public, especially if you want them to attend next year. It's a small world & the guy in question can put on an even bigger impressive display as he does at Ponda.Regarding greeting owner's,127 vehicles attended Ponda along with 28 re-enactment groups all of which was greeted by either myself or another organiser.I feel that greeting people in person is an essential part of running a show.

  11. Hi Steve,

As i was one of the guilty overtaker's on the track,i have too say the way we where (reprimanded) was a joke.In as far too say the way we were spoken too in the public eye & having our names wrote down on paper alittle over the top maybe!!.I believe this should have been delt with alot better lastly this was my first time at Croft along with three other vehicle owner's all of us came to the same conclusion. It would have been nice if someone on your team made an effort to greet us.I believe it's the little touches that make a great show.Regarding the re-enactment group complaining, again at most shows i attend the re-enactment group's book in & have space allocated to them due to the size of their display. You may want to also consider this.As for other idea's/ attraction's give me a bell & i'd be happy to help. All in all it was a good show.

  12. Hi All,

First of all a very big thank you to all the military vehicle owner's,re-enactors,stall holder's, piro team's & all the helper's that turned up on the day/day's to help.Lastly to all the staff at Ponderosa who have worked tirelessly.Probably due to the heavy rain on friday, the vehicle number's were well down with the amount that were booked in 214.We were well up on last year's figures with 127 on both day's.Stormin i believe you answered your own question there :-D But as one vehicle owner said to me, it's not the quantity it's the quality. We defo had quality with 36 British ww2 vehicles inc anti tank guns & heavy artillery.A rare D2 cat dozer,US6 studebaker truck & two Russian PT76 tanks on their first outing's.A good number of ww2 armour inc a M24 Chaffee, two M18 Hellcats, German Marder tank (not a 432 copy) four halftracks inc a very rare complete M14 halftrack, two daimler dingos. It's always good to see a saladin armoured car displayed with two very well restored ferrets. The highlight's for me was seeing my good friend Simon's AEC militant pulling the other 5.5" howitzer & Ken & Adam driving the cat D2 around the arena with Adam being applauded by all the armoured guy's.The ww2 armour driving & firing display around the arena, at both slow & high speeds was fantastic.Lastly the main re-enactment battle on the Sunday was outstanding, with three 25lb pounders & four ww2 tanks firing & driving along with three halftracks & a dingo. With Ken & Adam driving their halftracks straight through one of the mock houses. We had a very good crowd turn out on both the days.Where already planning next year's July show with the promise of alot more ww2 armour so watch this space.Lastly i'd just like to personaly thank Eddy AKA Rick, who was desperate to attend the show & desperatley tried in vain to attend with his Bren carrier.Even to the point of asking me to ask any of the owner's with heavy transporters at the show if they'ed pick it up for a good fee CHEER'S MATE.
