  1. Due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to move the show back a week to Sat 15th and Sun 16th May 2010. This is due to a Mini Marathon being run in the area and the main road to the show site being closed for several hours to allow the runners through. For more details contact Robin at 00353(0)872589013
  2. The annual MVCI Curragh Military Vehicle Show will take place on Sat 8th and Sun 9th May 2010. The format is as usual in that Members/Vehicles/ReEnactors/Living History Displayers arrive on the evening of Fri 7th or early on Sat 8th May and prepare for the Show proper on Sunday 9th May. Convoy through local towns on Sat afternoon/evening followed by BBQ (free) and a few beers, kick tyres, catch up on MV news etc. The site at the Curragh Race Course in County Kildare is secure and well lit with toilets and wash rooms. Sorry no showers on site but we can organise them locally. Lunch (free) supplied on Sunday. Camping allowed on Site. The Show will be open to the public from 10am to 6pm on the Sunday. The site/show consists of a large static display area and a large vehicle movement area. There is no charge to display and we will assist with transportation costs provided they are cleared in advance. All Clubs/Groups are welcome but we would appreaciate some advance notice to ensure you have enough space to display (and to make sure we have enough burgers!) Club/Group/Military Show information stands are also welcome. All Replica/De Acts must conform to Irish Legal Requirements, must remain on site and are the responsibility of the owner. Stall holders also welcome and there is a charge of €100 per stall. There is a Health & Safety plan in operation and the independant Health & Safety Officer has the final say in relation to all aspects in this regard. We are affiliated to the Irish Vintage Society and are an Area of the MVT. Willie Nugent MVCI Curragh Show Officer

  7. Agree with a lot on the front page but think we have to be pro active or at least seen to be pro active. We have just got a new Minister for the Environament here (Ireland)(Green Party), and are worried how things are going to go. Dont think being aggressive is going to solve our problem.

  9. Travelled up from Kildare last year and had a great weekend. Expect 10 or more Vehicles to travel from Dublin and Kildare again this year.
  10. The MVCI have never claimed to be running the Rathbeggan Show. They have said from the start that they will support the Club Land Rover Ireland Show because its one of their members local show. They have not tried to take it over as you stated and have no intention of doing so, they have enough to be doing. Your Club Secretary sent an invitation to the MVCI and she received a reply stating that the MVCI would be supporting the Land Rover Clubs Rathbeggan Show, the reply to your Secretary also included an invitation to your Club to display your vehicles at the Curragh and to use the opertunity to push the Land Rover Clubs Rathbeggan Show. Do you not want locals to go to the Rathbeggan Show?
  11. It doesn`t seem to have been obvious to the people who went to the Show. There must have been 15,000 or 20,000 there, it was mobbed. I understand your Group was invited to go to the Curragh and publicise the Rathbeggan Event, bit hard to grasp whyyour Group have to travel 300 miles to show the vehicles to an English audience, yet won`t travel 3 miles to do the same to a local audience. They say, they are supporting Rathbeggan, something not right there lads. Whats the story, are they going or not? Some lads were telling me the Ulster Club was not invited to Rathbeggan, whats the story there?
