  1. Tony, I suspect that there is an equivalent motorcycle unit that will fit, although you may find that the bulb wattage is limited. I have a catalogue at work which might yield a clue or two. I'll let you know. Rhett.
  2. Hello Joe, I'm a member of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club here in England and own several vintage and classic machines. Used, repro and NOS Triumph parts are not usually a problem over here but the sidevalve twins were only built for the MOD and weren't available to the civilian market, so parts won't be quite so easy. Best to join the Club (via its website) or let me me know what you need and I'll see what I can do to help. Rhett.
  3. I had a similar problem after rebuilding a late 27hp engine for my WS recently. It turned out that there was a slight gap between the dist. base and the vac. adv. bracket. I doubt the pump has dropped, unless you have used a lot of force on the dizzy, as the oil pipes are more than hefty enough to hold the pump in place without the locating setscrew. Before you remove the sump, measure the distance from the pump dog to the face of the dizzy aperture and compare it to the dizzy flange and dog. Also, check that you don't have any air leaks at the oil strainer. Could save a lot of unnecessary work and bad language! Rhett.
  4. Dave, Before you give up on the Ford, check with the DVLA regarding a dispensation to drive an historic vehicle rated at over 3.5 tonnes GVM if taxed as Historic or PLG and used unladen. Also, a vehicle over 3.5t GVM if proven to have been registered or first used before 1/1/1960 needs no MOT or LGV Test, if used privately and unladen. Go to DVLA website: Goods vehicle test exemptions, for appropriate application forms. BTW, although Perkins P6 and R6 conversions were more economical than the V8, the sound just doesn't compare with the music of Henry's finest! Rhett
  5. If these pistons are complete with rings, gudgeon pins and circlips (if required),then I would guess £25 each for stock or £50 each for imminent use would be a fair price.
