  1. Hi,

Does anyone have a drawing for a Bedford MW full exhaust and it's routing / attachement points? Mine finishes at the silencer midway under the vehicle and i'm going to get it extended to it's full (original) length. All help appreciated as i want to get this done prior to Normandy. Thanks Richard

  2. Hi all,

Due to a couple of drop outs i potentially have space for 1 - 2 Military Vehicles on our forthcoming trip to Normandy.

We sail on Sunday 1st June, staying in Portsmouth Hilton the night before and return on Saturday 7th June.

We are camping at Port En Bessin.

I have a ferry place booked and 2 camping spaces, so if more then one MV want's to come you will need to book your ferry.

If your interested, or need more details please PM me.

    Thanks

    Richard

  3. Hi Guys,

Are there any "whats on and when" guides for this years Normandy commemorations? We have a small group going again this year and would like to start thinking about where we should be each day.

Staying at Port en Bessin 1/6 - 7/6.

    Thanks

    Richard

  4. Ha ha....yes, Glen was my co-pilot. His Jeep was still recovering from its journey from Chelmsford!!

My MW does have a front reg plate. It folds up under the bumper and i never pull it down. Always there though if i get questioned. Like you, my Jeep does not have a front reg plate and i've not been stopped once in my 25 years ownership.

You Humber looks superb Julian....a real credit to you.

  5. Had a run out with GPW Rookie this weekend to a local wartime airfield to me....RAF Wratting Common. Nice to see a memorial and some of the original buildings (although not very many now).

  6. Hi Colin,

As with everything else it seems nowadays these covers are becoming extremely hard to find. I had to wait a long time for mine and ended up paying quite a bit more then the pair you have been offered. Remember, both Lucas and Butler made British vehicle lights and BO covers and there not interchangable, which reduces your chances even further if you trying to find the correct ones for existing light fittings. The later ones are much more pratical as they can still be used when it gets dark by raising the flap. Otherwise you need to carry around a spare set of standard lenses or only drive during the day!! They really do improve the look of your vehicle though i think.

  7. Thanks Larry, appreciate your comments.

The "M41" was found under layers of paint by the previous owner, so its original to the truck. The RAF serial number is correct too. Yes, i love the colour and as you say good to see it correct rather then the post war Blue that most seem to choose.

  8. Hi John,

I will need to check at the weekend but i dont think so. I assume you mean the floor? The bracket i have has two fixing holes at the top and one at the bottom.

    Cheers

    Richard

  9. John,

As far as the Fire Extinguisher is concerned, is it mounted in the centre of the battery box lid or offset to the drivers side? A photo i have suggests the later? My original box top has no holes or they have been filled and painted over many times? Also, is the bracket fixed on with screws or bolts and nuts?

    Thanks

    Richard
