  1. Yeah, I've heard of them :cool2:. There are many forums out in internet land on the same subject. We are a very small group, who like to keep on the good side of the authorities (shhh, I won't tell if you don't :-D), but legit' visits to the non public sites/or bits that are not available to Joe Public, will be very welcome.

There's a mountain of pic's here, for anyone that's interested:

  2. That's a shame Dave. My Kim is busy growing her 'tash, so that Roger doesn't get lonely (Well, that's her excuse :-D).

So far, we have 5 (+ 2 possibles) of our bunch attending. I've briefed them on how to park cars, directing people to the toilet, and lost children (Bring your kids along, we'll lose them for you :cool2:). I've also signed them up for the "advanced bucket rattling" course at my local college. We're looking forward to it!

  3. Yes Blazerman, one of my fav's. It's been flooded by the local council (scum!) to deter vandals and chavs. You'll be able to paddle around it in your canoe tho'. If you take a head lamp/torch with you, you'll be able to see the magazines too (not seen by many, due to the flooding.). It's about a mile from The Strand leisure park (nice slipway and car park there), as is Hoo Fort which you'll see opposite Darnet Fort.

  4. My bunch find many hours of fun exploring military and defence related structures. As per usual, history counts for nothing, unless it's a money maker for the powers that be. I could list a hoard of things that in my mind need preserving, but it'll never happen. I would also like to mention, that if you're a rich feller who buys a Palmerston Fort etc, you can do what you like with it, unlike the poor old unwashed volunteers who try to keep our heritage alive, who have to put up with EH (You can't do that!) hassle.

Full size rant available on request! :-D
