  1. I have some parts that I do not need as far as I know. Or that are not for RE. Please PM me if interested.
  2. It is indeed something different. And off course you should be very happy that it still on the bike as it should. Any other would be incorrect and replaced for sure.
  3. Hi Ron, that is a really nice bike too. But, sorry for my personal taste, I don't like the silencer that much to be fair. Doesn't suit the bike that good in my humble opinion. I'd rather see the normal round one. But, if it should be on this bike, it should be on this bike right? In any way, it is another great bike you have there Ron and I can imagine you sometimes have a hard time choosing which one to pich for a ride.
  4. Wow, incredible nice bikes. It must be a joy to ride them and see al those smiling faces.
  5. Aah, I see. I must have looked with my eyes shut. Thank you.
  6. Maybe a short question not directly related to this thread, but is my conclusion right that there is no marketplace or alike here on this website? Or did I just overlooked it?
  7. Ah, I see. Well, the world has a great bike added again for sure. And a noob like me can learn a lot from everything you and the others post here. So, win-win I'd say. Only if the "ransom" was paid to you offcourse 😁
  8. Hi Lex, I did see the thread. Also a realy nice project and bike. Incredible how you guys managed to find these nice early ones and got them to the incredible nice states that they turned out to be. Great job.
  9. That's a shame. But he must have had his reasons probably. It certainly looks the part, really great. It is such a joy to read the stories, see the pictures and get a glance of the skills you all have. Incredible, feel like an idiot taking on a bike because the opportunaty presented itself. But you guys are so skilled and experts in this field that my aim is to try to apply as much as I can on my bike to get you all a little proud We will see how it all ends up.
  10. Although it is already so long ago that this thread was created and last updated, I would like to congratulate both Ron and Ben on the completion of the bike. And, maybe I'm not alone, I was wondering what has become of the bike since? The whole process and all pictures, explaining and discussions gave me a lot of insight in how these bikes are build. Because it is a 12 (!!!!!) page topic, I even made a Word version for myself with the most important information in my eyes. So that I can use the valuable lessons in my own resto. Again, very well done and a great result. Cheers from Groningen.
  11. Well, long time no see. No posts don't mean no work has been done, but it is about time to post some update. I have to admit, having the bike not at home or nearby is a bit frustrating at times. But things are progressing slow but steady. Although I sometimes feel like I'm being thrown back 2 steps when taking 1. I come across quite a lot of things I wasn't expecting to be fair. It suppost to be a complete bike with minor work needed, but it turns out there are more parts gone or in need for repair or replacing than I was thinking it would. A few parts I know I need for sure: - footrest bar - footrests both sides (probably, see pictures) - throttle handle - lots of bolts and nuts to have BSC ones again fitted - saddle - headlamp complete - spedometer complete - stand - clutch parts to be able to operate and adjust the lever - battery holder (part of it anyway) - decompression lever (I believe) - exhaust (maybe only first bend, but maybe complete) - carburator (now a very big Amal one) and hopefully this will be it, but the experience until now is not promissing. But, I learned a lot already and learn every day. And the information here on the forum and what I already received from Jan is priceless. Thank you a lot all of you. The resto from Ron, actually Ben I believe, is also a great source of information. Although I just found it because of it being somewhat further away in the forum threads, I cannot get enough of reading it and looking at all the pictures. Very nicely done. Hope Ron is better again in comparison to what he experienced in the thread. So, where are we now? I have painted a lot of parts. Did I go about it as Ron did? No, I first want to get to a working bike and use it a bit to see what improvements, corrections, replacements etcetera I will need to carry out afterwards. So, the chance is very big I need to take things apart for sure in the nearby future anyway. At least, that is what I am preparing myself for. So, a lot of sanding, blasting, cleaning, priming, painting en testfitting is now on the way. Now I am awaiting a big bulk of BSC nuts and bolts from Nookies to replace as much as is needed to replace all bad or wrong ones. And by doing al the above I came acroos all things wrong, so we are not there yet. I will post some pictures of parts I believe are wrong or need repair of replacing, but I would like to have your opinions and hopefully help in getting some of the parts if possible. Please let me know. Regards, Paul.
  12. Incredible how much data you gathered Jan. It must be a mountain of work to sift through al the information and differences. Respect.
  13. I think the frame I have is some after war production or home made/adjusted one. It is also a bit bent I just saw. Like Jan mentioned, it looks a bit off in comparison to all examples in this thread. The cover though, looks legit. Maybe for me it is best to replace it complete to keep it simple and turn the bike into a functional bike.
  14. Hi Ron, I already understood from earlier contact that the saddle from your picture should be the one to use. I was a bit confused because my saddle looked so different since the D-shaped plate is missing. So, maybe just adding the D-plate should be making a big difference possibly? Do you have a good address where I can get replacement springs, the long ones and short ones including the oval plate, and a nicely fitting cover? I see a lot of stuff from India comming by on Ebay for instance, but I get the impression that the quality is not that good.
  15. I'm sorry for the double post, but it is easier to add pictures from my phone, than via the laptop. Also I will look for a picture of the cover when I'm back at home.
  16. Hi Jan, I'm reading all of the above with interest because I still need to find out what kind of saddle I have and should use. This is the frame that was under the cover with the Lycett label. The cover looks original, but the frame is not exactly like what you posted in this topic. Can you tell me if I should/could use this frame and rostore it for functional use? Or should I be better looking for a reproduction or original to use for my 350 WD/C?
  17. Ok, Jan also told me on the limited pictures that I sent him. But the tank now looked so different in comparison to the ones I now saw here, that I was wandering if mine is really the one I should use and maybe repair. I think I will just take my time and look for a better replacement. So, if anyone has something for sale or knows one for sale, please think of me.
  18. Sure looks different than mine. And indeed I also can't see a manufacturer making the tank like mine is right now. These extra curves and welds that you introduce by this way are not mass produced easily. Can't think of a reason why this has been done. But finding an original replacement will be kind of hard I guess. And costly probably.
  19. Here are some pictures of my swiss cheese tank
  20. I will post them in my topic, not to mess up this one too much with my questions. 😄
  21. when I look at your fuel tank I can't stop wandering if my badly eaten swiss cheese one isn't from a different bike than a wdc or wdco. Especially at the side of the saddle mine hasn't got the sharp edges that yours seems to have. Can it be that my tank isn't the right one or that it has been altered? I'm currently looking for someone who can restore it, but if it turns out that this also isn't the right tank for me I can better take my time and look for an apropriate one.
  22. I see that this thread is from 2018. And besides giving me already a lot more information about the RE WDC and WDCO, I was wandering what went on after October 2018? How are things now with this bike and are there more pictures of the restauration to be shared? Kind regards, Paul.
