Many thanks Clive.
This description must allow me to fix the body.
It will be difficult overhere to find the mounting hook and bracket -> so I'll have to make myself.
Does somebody have themfor sale or can someone send me (a) picture(s)

Many thanks Richard for that imput!
There are two shackles at the back of the body -> see pics (one beside the union flag)
-> can I use these as lifting point?

I don't have a picture of the front side, but I can imagine there are shackles too.

the id on the body says:
TCTM 3TON CB310 OPERATIONS OFFICE
MCE LTD CONTN° WV9844
Truck is a LEYLAND DAF 4-tonner
@ Clive
- could you please check if this model is in the list?
- How can I get the army code 14917?
As I'm picking it up on Saturday: any idea about the weight? Can you also tell me if/where there are lifting points to lift it from above with a crane?
ALL HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

At first sight, the flatbed of the Leyland is the same as the ones on MK's :dunno:
The diagram plate is on the body -> only mentioning Bedfords.
I will have a look tomorrow on the id plate of the body.

Hello Tony,
I know that vehicle -> did check it out last time you spoke/wrote about it.
Fact is, I have the body and the truck

but how/with what must I secure the body on the truck?
I don't want to loose it on the M25! :-D

Can someone:
- explain or show me how an office body is fixed on the flatbed of a Leyland/Bedford?
- tell me where to find the fixings for this?
All help much appreciated!!

Can somebody tell or show me where to look for the chassisnumber and motor number on a Leyland DAF 4-tonner?
Thanks

Hi Richard,
forgot to mention but I'm based in Belgium.
I think I probably have the only Leyland DAF 4-tonner in private hands over here!

@abn
thanks for the info

Hello,
any chance of pm-ing me this picture in high resolution?
Do you have others of Creully?
Piet

could be cheap but only if I order the right one ;-)
so If someone could confirm
-
Can someone confirm that the Leyland DAF 4-tonner windscreen is similar to a civil one -> Leyland DAF 45 , 55 ???

mechanical parts -> paddock or craddock in the UK
They ship to your door upto 30kgs for less then 10 Euros!!
I have to admit I did buy some bits at Van Dam and had a look at the vehicles. I did find the asking prices rather high. But.....Land Rovers are more expensive in Holland than in Belgium.
-
To me, not the cheapest guys around.
-
ok! send it over just to prepare myself ;-)
-
OK, as you ask for it
-> straight question, straight answer: £3050+vat (I hope this wasn't stupid) :dunno:
Here it is:

And this is the target:

I know I know, a Bedford MJ looks much better, but we are (were) looking for a truck with sleeping accomodations to visit shows.
So I think the Leyland is a better drive to travel with(?). Correct me if I'm wrong.
I was looking into an MJ but I went for the truck in the best condition and to me it was this Leyland.
Over here in Belgium, Daf parts are easy to get. Bedford parts ???????
I also saw that Leyland cabins are far more "rust resistant" than Bedford ones.
Hope I made the best choice

I have to pick up a Leyland 4 tonner from Withams to come to Belgium over Dover.
An option is my mates lowloader!
This would mean there is space available for something else!
Route: Witham-> London -> Dover -> Belgium
-
I ended up with a Leyland DAF 4 tonner, so I'll have to open a topic in the wanted section 8-)
Does someone need transport from Withams to dover or the continent?
-
Super Gerald!!!!
Any interest of displaying in Belgium next summer?
We could do with some "british radio imput" on our show overhere!

Hello all,
does anyone have info (or know where I can get) about the 2 Ton "office trailers" which can be towed behing a bedford?
I see on pics that there are many variants (-> different applications?)
Is there somebody having a manual?
All info welcome and.....thanks in advance.

most certainly the Bunker Bash - > keep me informed about that!

I'm sorry Lee, but there are some reasons my first move was to link to our web site:
the last 2 weeks I just found time to upload 500 pics on our site (problem is that there is also a dayjob and evenings spent on the MV hobby in the garage).
I have to admit I hate uploading pics on a forum (first hosting them and than linking). I always give up after a couple or two. :computerterror:
But, what is there to report:
- I think 80% of the "(rather small) continental British post war schene" was there. Next year we can do with UK imput.
- We had a good collection: Land Rovers, ambulances, ferrets, sabre, spartan, fox, 432, wombat -> in the arena witch is not common overhere.
- 2x 25 pounder with quad (we are also concentrating on the WWII Belgian brigade)
- very nice beertent
- huge BBQ
- and most important.......everybody happy :-D :-D
