  1. the two tubeular bars are steady bars for the SA80 mount used on the rear bulhead in Landrovers.

100% certain that this is not the case as thet have a different lenght and ends compared to the ones of my SA80 mounts.

Attached detailed pictures of the one end of the rods.

Sorry, but to me it all goes with the mount (same state, same colour,...)

  2. You are very forgiving then!

Well, over here on the continent we don't have many possibilities when it comes to entertaining events/shows, especially when you are into UK post war stuff and not in the WWII scene (not to speak the Yankee one).

  3. Also think about travel distances from the continent. Always count from Dover as other routes (eg Hull)are to expensive to bring lorries over.

Bunker Bash is the maximum distance for a show over the weekend.

    Site rules:

try to limit rules but the ones which are laid down MUST BE ENFORCED.

HELP POINTS or HELP PHONE NUMBERS.......

To be supplied to everyone who signs in to exhibit.

This will be manned 24 hrs a day for emergencies of any nature and to be acted on immediately.

This will solve almost all problems.

  4. The reason people go back is because it's the only 5 day show. I'm sure that if another club or show had access to a site as big and made it into a 5 day show, then that would be a serious contender to W&P.

    +1

    additional reasons we are returning:

    - stalls

    - diversity of the show.

If a small number of rules were watched over by the organisers and some facilities would have normal standard, W&P would be the perfect show.

  5. If Rex wants to allow these on site

set aside another field lay out a few courses and supervised area and let the kids have fun and of course charge for it.

I was thinking in the same direction for the armour and tracked.

If you see in the army how many safety precautions are taken when tracked and armour is on the move (well it is so in the Belgians army tank museum), it is so horrible what you see @ W&P!!! :argh::argh:

Tracked and armour should ALWAYS move at walking speed, guided by someone wearing HI-VI.

The movement from the fields into the arena is ""more or less" organised, but what you see happening around you after the public has gone is beyond every imagination. Everybody is taking the toy out.:nono:

I can imagine that everybody with that kind of material loves to drive it and is always looking for the opportunity to do so, but to me, it would not be a big effort for the show organisers to allow them to use the arena when the public is out.

    EG:

You make one marschall responsible for it, he centralises all applications for driving in the arena. He makes a time shedule allowing 3 or 4 vehicles into the arena for 15-20 minutes. Every vehicle needs to take one marschall into the vehicle and NEEDS TO HAVE INTERCOM. Due to the time shedule, one has a good view on the movement from the fields into the arena.

    To me:

    - you won't have to look for voluntering marschalls to man the vehicles and organise movements.

    - this is a perfect reward to the people making the effort to bring armour and tracked to the event

    - roads, lanes and fields will be free of fast moving tracked and armour. This year on the America's field armour was moving above 25 MPH, with someone laying on the deck, instructing the driver, while kids were around:nono::nono:

Just an idea, but my opinion always comes at the same conclusion: the marschalls, supervision and control are gone with the public....

  6. To me, there need to be "secutity teams" (call it what you want) 24/24 which can be called in to deal with druk driving, stupid driving, BB guns,.........

Everything goes loose once the public is out.

You not only have an organisation for the opening hours, you also have to organise the event for everyone who is on site the other hours. You can't think that a group of a couple of thousand people will control itself, certainly not when heavy vehicles, beer, etc is involved.

Maybe that could be the point also for the other items (facilities): when organising, you also have to focus on the "participants".

  7. Hello,

here are some pictures of our lightweight and our carawagon:

lightweight pictures were taken at re-enactment events in Bastogne and Bussum.

Carawagon(with trailer) was taken in the Belgian army barracks @ Brasschaat (Artillery).
