Yes, it's a Humber Pullman Limousine.

Looks like a very nice project.

That is a really nice set of pictures. Great to be able to see them.

Does sound ambitious but no harm in giving yourselves something to aim for 😉

At a recent show we attended I was asked a couple of times what webbing, if any, would have been worn by a driver of say a 3 tonner during the war? RASC, REME whatever, was there such thing as a specific webbing set, belt, water bottle, gas mask etc or are they all simply carried loose in the vehicle?

That's a fascinating read, the quantity of MV's saved is huge!

The Ford is a lovely truck.

Looks a great project and well worth saving.

Not far from us and we go to a show each year in Norton Fitzwarren....

Sounds good, which part of the country are you based?

Ad's
in Tell us...!
Wow, finally the ads are gone. Much much better!!

I also think that for the many who simply can't get over to Normandy there will be a fair few large events over here that we can attend?

New project??
Very much a possibility Seamus, like we've said before we can't help ourselves sometimes and they do need someone to save them...😉

I am looking for advise.
Does anyone have experience of bringing restoration projects back from France to the UK?
Any tips to transport companies, import duties, Vat etc?

A very interesting story. We visit Dartmouth quite often so would be interested if they could make more of it.
-
Definitely agree, we can't help ourselves once we've caught the restoration bug. It's also about making sure we save these vehicles too isn't it?
I must admit I am following a few leads now for our next project...

I did see you ask about this one on FB and wondered if it had made its way into your collection!!

Open to all to join?

Shame really, I think they are quite nice looking trucks.
-
I know of a few smaller Dennis wartime tipper trucks, one not a million miles from me tucked in a barn. But I haven't seen one of these.
-
The second Mustang pic looks particularly evocative with the crew.

I must admit I still toy with the idea of a trailer for our Commer, I always keep an eye out at any sales locally and have followed a few leads from friends.
-
In my opinion the rarer the better, I like seeing something new or something that really is out of the ordinary.
I would imagine this is quite a heavy piece of kit to tow?

Could very well be a 1937/8 Fordson Model 79 or similar, 2-3 ton model.
