  1. Cheers bud, must have taken a while ill give it go.
  2. Overnight? To be fair the unopened paint has stood for a while of course i stirred it but probably not enough.
  3. Quick one guys, had Quick test with spray gun very dark olive drab and dried somewhat shiny is it a case of not being stirred enough prior to mixing. It is a matt paint
  4. Thanks bud wasn't sure if the claw should hook on more.
  5. Guys trying the screen down to hood fit, do these look right thought they would hook on better
  6. Looking forward to it, finally getting mine painted this week, pams dad passed away so we've had loads to do, had a couple of issues with with it not wanting to turn over after a run, ok at moment fingers crossed.
  7. Hi Jerry hope you are well, chart holder is still there, I'll leave the grease gun fittings just thought they may interfere with the stencils, great to see you back on forum
  8. Bit of a milestone to be reached on Saturday, the MB is going for final paint, father in law passed away a few months ago and is unit is now clear, so I'm taking her down there for me to paint her, it was him that advised me to pick it and it will be ironic for it to be the last vehicle to be painted there.
  9. May as well put a base coat on too
  10. Guess it didn't go to badly for my welding skills, now on the flank of the hood are 4 i believe decontamination screws, any one have these and do they affect stencil fitting, tried the hood blocks which had been previously welding up.
  11. Starting the hinge repair today hopefully the last bit of welding to be done, a came across the original F mark which i understand all late MBs had.
  12. Cheers bud i believe it would have been blue, however like most i do prefer the white finish, I've see some done in blue then white over the top, doesn't look great tbh any idea of the star.
  13. Hi guys, anyone know which star a April 45 jeep had, plain, broken or complete ring, also looking for 2" font although unsure which was used at the time, Steve
  14. One big last push now, what a bugger getting footman loops off for axe and shovel all original didn't want to move.
  15. Still all good brief drive today all good noticed all many nuts and bolts have become loose or missing all tightened and replaced got to fit suppression box only cosmetically though and noticed a nut missing on my starter could this have been my problem 20230527_112023.mp4
  16. Looks great bud do you go to woodhall spa 1940s weekend
  17. After tightening everything up it's started first time for the last 3 days, now i need to drive it this is when the problem occurs
  18. Hi Steve it has been re built not to sure if this is the problem it fires straight away if there is power to it, the intermittent loss of power almost like a low battery and nothing
  19. Yes that's correct checked everything to the starter switch all looks good and tight, I've got to get a good look behind the ignition switch itself pretty compact under there only a couple of connectors were hand tight being main lead onto the alternator the other on the coil, both now nipped up and tight.
  20. I'll try that next time it happens bud.
  21. Standard ignition switch not a key type ignition light obviously shows when switch is activated and goes off after starting .
  22. Hi Chris its as if the battery is flat doesn't even crank, so i checked the battery it's good but charged it anyway and hey presto she starts, this only happens after a run, say 2 or 3 miles. Once fully charged turns over fine.
