  1. Hi , I was there as you can witness in the previous pictures , had a good time , but have some thoughts about the new organizing. First a lot of entrants subscriptions could not be found ? second no marshals to control the layout , we where in the WW2 field , but we were surrounded by Post war vehicles ? Showers and toilets OK , same as last year , so why 10 pounds extra?

Another thing that an onyes me a bit is that all civy vehicles have to leave the Field every day , and others just put a magnetic thing on the side with Bundeswehr , or ISAF, UN , and or Ford K `s with Berlin Camouflage, they can stay on the Field , and drive around the whole week.

  2. Pleased you like the photos Ian and Jeremy, somewhere I have the data sheet for the 180 gal Canadian tank I'll have a root around in the morning and see if I can find it and put a scan up on here I may also have some more factory photos on disc I'll have a look.

One small point worthy of note on the photo of the rear of the tank is the Canadian 'rubber light' rear lights these would not be fitted to British trailers. These lights are the same as fitted to 11 and 12 cab Ford and Chevrolet CMP's.

I wonder if the over run brake is hydraulic on the tanker? the 10cwt trailer is and it's activated by a Ford CMP master cylinder

    Pete

Yes the canadian trailer has a Ford Master cilinder , with 1 1/2 " CMP wheel cilinders , everyting on the axle is Ford Marked.

  3. . Were owners in UK approached about this film are is it all French owner vehicles?

The cardboard cut outs are the most authentic ones !

    regards, Richard

Richard , I got a letter from somebody in France asking for my2 Aeroscreen Bedfords and AEC (anyway has to be a rounded cab one which I don`t have ) , and gave him the price for transport 3oo km each way , plus petrol for on the set , and didn`t even talk about taking leave myself , and the reply was : Euhm , but then I can`t make any profit !

So the prop guys want to make double fees over the vehicle owners without doing something themselves.

For UK based vehicles , maybe the Ferry is already too much .

  4. I straightenned mine myself , used a jeep trailer axle which I fastenned to a workbench , and then put a jack on the workbench to push carefully on the outside of the rim on several positions to press it straight again .

  5. Front brake cilinders are the same on the MK1 militant , and Matador, Plenty available over here , because in a local yard there where about a 100 Militants cut up , but the axles are saved.

  6. off topic , Gerry , I can see in the list GMC tooltruck with winch , but to my knowledge they were never produced , just the open canvas version. the ones I have seen have a non strenghtened chassis , so must have been ordinary cargo trucks , Compressor trucks had again a different strengtenned chassis .
