Any Austin 1 ton K9's in there? The card for my K9 no longer exists according to the usual sources, so fingers crossed! 79BG15 is the original army registation number.
Cheers!

Thanks for sharing this amazing project with us. Your workshop looks like my kind of heaven! :-)
Love the look of the Austin WF ambulance too.

Again, a massive thanks to Sean for his excellent pictures, just need to get some money together to buy some steel now!

Anyone have any idea if the tank from this post on another forum was saved? Also, what is it? A Churchill perhaps?
My knowledge of tanks is quite limited!

I also would love to see details on the headboard. I plan on making a headboard for our 1:1 scale RL! :-)
Currently it doesnt have a headboard.
Cheers

I wouldnt have a clue what to offer to be honest, great old truck though, and the body is awesome!
Love the K9 story, I've been towed a few times in various K9s! Its a bit scary, haha!

Hello and welcome!
I'd be interested in the RL comms body if you decide to sell it seperately! :-)
Cheers

Im pretty sure the MVT will be able to help you date it, or try The Bedford enthusiast club.
Good luck and looking forward to seeing some pictures!

Thanks John,
Just done a quick calculation, having joined in Sept 2005, I have averaged 79 posts per month to date :undecided:
Yes Richard, but how many members and lurkers (people that look but don't log in, or post) have you helped with advice and part identification through this forum? So please, don't stop posting! :-)

I'm sure she'll fire up with fresh batteries! Saying that that's what we were told when we bought ours from ebay, trouble was it had seized through standing, no big deal really.
It looked a bit worse than yours.
Great old beasts though, she looks like this now

My Dad owned this about 10 years back. It had the original body on then, but with the massive headboard cut down.
I'll dig some pictures out. Great to see it saved though, doesn't look to bad.

That's the same colour as mine, I'm sure its eau de nil, the same light green as inside the rear radio body was painted, not skyblue (duck egg).
I'll be painting my K9 engine that colour when I get round to that bit.

Yes we would love to see more pictures!

Oooohh, I do love K9's!
My Dads owned more than a couple, his last GS K9 was registered GSU 427.
Last heard of in a private MV collection in Bolton.
This next was was bought directly from the garage that ran it as there breakdown truck in Birkdale Southport. Pictured at a rally in about '84.
Heres one available for film work.

The IOW GS K9 was advertised for sale about 3/4 years back. I too have some pictures of it that I'll dig out.

Yes but look at the company name for one of the most respected of British makes. ...... Scammell Lorries Ltd ..... says it all!
A truck in those days was either something that ran on a railway or a light goods carrying vehicle at the lower weight range, hence pick-up truck and anything up to a couple of tons payload.
Aha, I see. Thanks for clearing that up, It's come up a few times before and always referred back to the handbook.
Cheers,
Austin

Military lorry (yes lorry I’m English not truck)
On the handbook for my Austin K9, it's called a truck. Designed and built in Great Britain.

AUSTIN the ex bovington one was bought by a forum member just lately the bowser was returned to the mod in 1990 the
ffw was offered to the royal signals museum but they declined and was returned to mod again 1990 one of the GS was also returned to the mod in the same year the decision to dispose was not mine
Thanks for the reply Wally. I hope there is a military storage area somewhere with those K9's just waiting to be found Seems to be quite a few coming K9's coming out of hiding lately.
Sorry for the thread highjack John.
What's Sean got now?
in I may be stupid, but......

On first look, I thought they may be Smith's speedo glass, as fitted to early BSA Bantams. No military link though
