I have a flotation screen that I have salvaged if you need parts from it like cables and fittings.

I don't know if the British forces use them but the photo you show appears to be a European mainland vehicle.

They are quite common over here on the net in the US sales but rarely seen in civilian hands up here. Ive always wanted one.

What a great model.

I love how it is not all pretty and clean but instead weathered and looks sun bleached a bit.

The weathering on the tyres and under the fenders is great.

I also like the sand coloured bin on one side that doesnt match the rest of the vehicle that is so true to real life in how parts get swapped around and often don't get painted to match for some time.

The stowage of traffic cones and the POL cans up top look interesting.

I would love to see what inspired you.

Yes there is.

there are a bunch of bilingual and knowledgeable Belgians on face book

They have lots of pictures and know the vehicles

It is the CVR(T) appreciation group.

Does anyone have any measurement of this tube from centre to centre of the bolt hole please?

We are trying to sort a problem out with a Ferret engine bay and support tube and need to understand if the tube has been bent out of dimension.

The vehicle is undergoing restoration and the folks dont want to use theirs of it warps the hull

All answers greatly appreciated

Does anyone have a ferret or have ever seen one that has tie down points on the FRONT armour plate just up from the bottom edge?

I am not asking about the ones on the sides at the front. I am well familiar with those.

Can you post a picture of the vehicle please and do you know its original registration please?

The venerable Series 3 came with a pintle hitch on the rear cross member.

Some units saw need for another pintle hitch on the front bumper, for putting trailers into aircraft etc.

Was there an official modification instruction? Can anyone share it and put it up on here?

Does anyone have memories of doing it themselves unofficialy?

Im trying to help a friend who needs / wants to fit one to his vehicle

The cranes on these two vehicle look very much alike.

We have a Bedford Calm that is rated at 3300kg at 1.92m from the hard point at the end of the first section before the second joint.

This distance is just about impossible to lift anything off the ground as it is right at the edge of the vehicle.

There is an Foden FH70 limber on the milweb classifieds that is shown lifting an old tractor. Im sure our crane would not be able to do the same lift yet the cranes look identical.

Anyone able to comment?

There is also a picture that I have permission to use that shows this Land Rover 1 tonne on the back of a Bedford CALM after a nasty accident, I wonder how it was put on the bed? I would love to be able to do the same capacity lift.

You are so lucky that you can display the original military registration numbers etc.

Is it the light or the material used that makes the yellow horizontal stripe look pale? Pictures and real life left me with the impression it was a bit darker, almost the same as the yellow at the back weight.

Anyway, cracking job, no one would know its wasnt still in service unless you told them. Really looks the part now.
