    Not trousers of any sort. It is a belt & buckle. The illustration shows how it should be stored in the barracks. At kit inspection the soldier should hold this equipment over his right arm.

    Hm tempted by the shiny thing I must say. Trouble is I don't like narrow places, I have been round the catacombs of Exeter & Paris was fascinated. Also some RSGs & I have a copy of the Committe of 100 publication in 1960s of the details of all RSGs. I remember the Devon one was Kingsbridge 2611, I use to ring it up when I was a schoolboy.
