  1. Yes very good Richard I knew I could rely on you. "Daily puddings" As in "Give us our daily bread" & "puddings" as in semolina pudding that is derived from the gritty stuff in the middle. Although it could be a cook book, it is from a RASC Supplies Manual 1922.
  2. Nope not poisonous very nutritious, see below in a minute.
  3. or even this, which I took to W&P in 1993.
  4. Nope, Tony you've obviously had difficulties with pomegranates before.
  5. I think I was being a bit too strict. Although it's not a far off lands survival thing, it is a fruit or veggie issue.
  6. Nope, although it looks plausible.
  7. Got to be the FV426. I've got the FVRDE Design Spec but never even seen a drawing. But has anyone though? Designed to fire what is in my avatar.
  8. Nope, another cunning plan though.
  9. Not in this instance, but that certainly sounds a cunning plan.
  10. Nope, I see what mean it can look like all sorts of things.
  11. What's this doing in a training manual?
  12. EMER POWER S540-549 Meteor S540/3-549/3 Meteor, Mk 4B
  13. Well done Lee that's pretty good, I think you've got it really. It's not some much drying the meat as such but for storage, although no doubt there would be some drying taking place. The others seemed close as it does look & have the dimensions of something for flogging or execution.
  14. That would be covered separately from the vehicle in EMER POWER series. What engine does it have & I'll look it up? Also the generator & starter motor would be covered in quite separate sections in EMER POWER. EMER TRACKED VEHICLES G100 etc covers items common to all models G100/2 ARV, Mk 2 G100/3 Bulldozer, Mk 5 G100/4 AVRE, 165mm, Mk 5 G100/5 Bridgelayer, Mk 5 G100/6 ARK, Mk 5
  15. No longer in service with the British Army, but under what circumstances was it used?
  16. Because of the age of the Centurion, it is covered under Electrical & Mechanical Enginering Regulations (EMER) EMER TRACKED VEHICLES Centurion, all marks (ie common features) G110 Data Summary G111 Operators Instructions G112 Technical Description G113 Unit Repairs G114 Field & Base Repairs G115 Preparation for special functions G116 Preferred Repair Schedules G117 Modification Instructions G118 Inspection Standards G119 Miscellaneous Instructions Centurion, ARV was covered under EMER TRACKED VEHICLES G110/2-109/2. I am not aware that BARV had a special suffix but it doesn’t appear in any catalogues I have. CVR(T) is covered under Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP) Sabre AESPs start 2350-R-101 Sabre (Diesel) AESPs start 2350-R-111 This is followed by a final 3-digit group Comprising 2-digits to define subject matter: 10 Purpose and planning information 20 Operating information 21 Special to arms 22 Training aids 30 Technical description 41 Installation instructions 51 Failure diagnosis 52 Repair instructions 53 Inspection standards 54 Calibration procedure 60 Maintenance schedule 71 Illustrated parts catalogue 81 Modification instructions 82 General instructions and index The final digit of the 3-digit group specifies the level of information (eg 2350-R-101-711): Level 1 User/operator Level 2 Unit maintenance Level 3 Field maintenance Level 4 Base maintenance
  17. Adam, the Servicing Schedule says that if only one axle has reinforced tyres that should be the rear axle. Not sure if that is a steering/handling issue or related the load in the back.
  18. If you fit electronic ignition you might want to open the gaps up a bit. You can do this with RSN12Y but not on RSN13P as the side electrode will break off. NSNs are a bit misleading as you will see at the end of this: http://www.hmvf.co.uk/pdf/IGNITIONMATTERS.pdf But there are other plugs that can be substituted.
  19. Adam things like tyre pressures, oil types etc are in the Servicing Schedule. Assuming you still have Mk 1 tyres "RF HS" Front 25 Rear 40 If it has Mk 2 tyres "Reinforced" Front 30 Rear 60 If it has Mk 2 tyres "Extra Reinforced RF" Front 20 Rear 47 Don't mix types on the same axle This is where tyre kicking does no good or even just looking at them. When I first had the Hornet the steering was a bit peculiar, both front tyres 0 psi!
