  1. Richard it immediately passes through a needle valve (obviously operated by the float) so it won't get swamped with fuel. Earlier in the year on two Pigs I had occasion to get started after some years, I found the needle valve would stick & it would stop running. I managed to free them with some modest tapping with a hide hammer in the vicinity.
  2. Undo the brass banjo connector (that has the metal fuel pipe that comes up from the fuel pipe) & feed into the carb there.

I can only speak from my own experience of Milweb. I have bought & sold things in free ads, paying for a photo & webverts. I have had no problems whatsoever & very pleased with the service it provides. On a few occasions I have needed to contact the administration & found them to be most helpful.
  4. Richard when you say nothing happened at start up did the yellow light (oil pressure) stay on just as bright or did it dim/extinguish? If it is the former you need to check with a bulb test prod that when you turn to start you have 24v on SOL lead that comes from switchboard. If ok then take lid of Ignition Junction Box & check SOL there. If ok undo multiplug on starter itself & check pin A Also of course check you have 24v on the main solenoid terminals that are permanently connected to the batteries. If it was the latter then thats a battery problem,
  5. Merlin & Alec you just got pipped at the post. But Alec you did all the hard work. The scaling to get the 10-pdr mountain gun was very impressive.
  6. Yes well done Bob it is a muzzle lifter. Alec was 95% there but you came in for the final strike!
  7. Very nearly there Alec so you are near the alter! Very well worked out Yes it does fit the barrel/muzzle of an artillery gun but not for that purpose. Consider the role that this particular gun plays
  8. Not hollow Bernard. Date, well done pretty good as this was no doubt in use in 1902, this document is dated 1911
  9. Nope. Spurtle, stroppers all these words I've not heard before:D Does it help to know it is 22 inches long?
  10. Nope but you are the warmest of anyone so far.
  11. Well I'm glad I got a translation , but it isn't. Would it help to know that the lower end has a leather covering?
  12. How would this be used in a medical context?
  13. Another easy one. Also looking for a date on this.
  14. Very well done Paul it is indeed that! Was that deduction or have you seen one before? I've never seen one. Unit, Test, Search Coil Alignment, No. 2 It was intended for Mine Detector No. 4 & 4A. EMER to follow.
  15. Nope, not actually off anything, but is an independent item in its own right.
  16. Nope, but if it helps the sides that you can't see look just the same but have no markings.
  17. Nope but I think you & Bernard should swap notes.
