Following conversations on https://classiccampstoves.com/, I retyped the Hurlock WW1 stove instructions and container label, and put this together - with a 2023 update as they'll leak.
It's suggested that they were CES to vehicles rather than personal stoves. Does anyone have any record of them being issued with the WW1 or 1920's vehicles?
Looks good

They were collapsible solid-fuelled stoves, the largest component part designed to be carried comfortably by two persons.
Alec.
I would like to see them please

I have rummaged around on CCS, where I found the above - which is from Australia or New Zealand and is possibly American in manufacture.
Is the No 4 the same make as the 2 and 3?
Not the British ones

Does anyone know what Number 4, 8, 9, 10, or 11 looked like, please?
And does anyone have any documents on any of the files, please?
Many thanks

RAL numbers are a German standard, widely used, admittedly, but not officially in this country where we use British Standard paints. It will be among that set you will need to look. I assume it is a standard dark navy blue you have in mind. There may then be white 'Royal Navy' markings on each rear tub side and, perhaps a stencilled ship's name on the cab doors, but, otherwise, there is little of note, I would suggest. Perhaps more interesting, while retaining the RN theme, would be to go for a Land Rover from a warship which would have been used as the Captains -on-shore duty vehicle. This might then have more 'bull' including a varnished wooden shield on the radiator grille with the ship's crest on it, a white spare tyre cover on the bonnet and other such 'embellishments'.
Thanks I have now had a memory jog reading this and remember HMS Fife visiting Dundee before decommissioning

My learned friends I am looking to get a Series 2A Land Rover marked up as a fleet Air Arm one.
It still has the beacon on the roof.
Colour i.e. RAL number would help and any decals as well
Thanks in advance

Looking at the diagram I have a better idea on a plan of attack weather permitting
Just got down to this job, turns out the inside plates are not there, also the bolts frozen

A wire brush and WD14 and a bit of elbow grease. I put them in a bucket of diesel with a cover on and forget them for a while.
Yes next on the list, but fascinated watching the rust grow on the exposed handle

You could also try electrolysis, I've had very good results with that. Takes off both rust and any paint.
Yes have read that and tried, must have done something wrong so carry on with vinegar, my daughter is an ethical jeweller so try and follow that way, the paint on the ones i have tried has come off.
