I have been to a chain, wont mention the name and they did a service check of my car and gave me a list of things "needing to be done" refused and said to them the car had just been serviced and they couldn't do the work they wanted to, took the list to my local garage showed them and they went through it and couldn't find any of the work that was supposed to be needed, it turns out this national chain has a reputation for finding work that s is supposedly needed.

Started on the fettle, its going to be a slow one as other work and work takes priority.
One handle broke of as lifted up other seized, looking in the lid I appear to have an original set of spares in a plastic bag, first job will be sort the handles, and now found original un bleached paint heading to find a match beginning of November.
Looking in the lid the label has instructions, have a copy of the operating ones which is about half way down, cant really make out the first half, they don't appear to agree with any in the manual.
Does any one have a clear picture, I can work out fonts etc to reproduce once got the thing cleaned.
Thanks in advance.

I assume you have hunted for steel stock suppliers
Here's Wakefield link
https://www.yell.com/s/steel+stockholders-wakefield.html
Sheffield down the road may be a better option

None meant to see if the company was still trading but usually remember at silly o clock

Sorry the above was posted yesterday in response to surveyor but the forum crashed and it’s just posted it now I’ve come back to the page.
Same thing happens with me, you about 2-3 hours away, are you looking for it formed or just ready for you to shape?

Maybe but if a foot rest where would the carter sit? Is it hinged to go in that opening?

Anyone know any company supplying 1/4” steel plate/sheet?
Everywhere I find either has 1/4” thick steel in narrow strip or supplies 6mm as 1/4” rather than a true size. I would normally be happy enough with 6mm but as it’s to weld to 1/4” plate, I think the .35mm difference will be visible and difficult to mask.
We have a few steel workers around here in Wakefield, where are you based roughly?

What is the white rectangle between the shafts?

I have bought 2 of these and they need a bit of work to be used without getting splinters.
Does anyone have a specification for them, as yet I have not cleaned them one is painted so not sure what the timber is, I am guessing pine.
Help please
