  2. If its a diesel ,you might be lucky and it'll fire up with good batteries ,is the hull full of water ,take the drain plugs out and emty it .when you switch on the battery isolator you should hear the fuel pump running at the back of the vehicle .where are you ?if not too far i could come and help if you like justin
  3. Theres some pics in marcus glens gallery of the work being done ,the potential buyer is however a registered firearms dealer and is exempt, the export license will be dealt with by a professional and competent 3rd party . done.justin
  4. Ive already half arranged someone so sort the correct export license so my side is sqeaky clean ,if it needs to be demilled etc in france that will be down to him. i know theres plenty of 432s knocking about in europe in private ownership so it must be sortable. justin
  5. looks brilliant mhope mine turns out as well
  6. Hi richard ,apparently there're allowed armour if its demilitarised but he's an rfd so he's apparently exempt .i'm with Robin on this though ,it's basically his problem ,in the nicest possible way . cheers justin
  7. Agreed robin ,its not something i'll be attempting justin
  8. thanks for all the help ,much appreciated justin
  9. I had a very nice chap from france visit today and he's very interested in buying my 432 ,i've left all the transport twoddle to him ,but do we need an export license? its very old technology and i couldn't see anything of relevance on the proper list ,he's pretty sure he's exempt from demilitarisation as he's registered , has anyone got experience of such things . justin
  10. welcome ,not been here long myself . I'm only in sunny ilkeston cheers justin
  11. perhaps they had to do it blindfold:D
  12. And I thought 70s technology was better than 60s LOL surely the cvrts don't have labyrinth oil seals!? justin
  13. the Quarry mud came off ok it was the ancient black sludge under the floor that took some shifting ,she does look good though now . hows your cvrt project going ?
  14. Yes I think that will be the plan ,i might even go and hire a steam cleaner and really go for it ,i'm hoping its not as bad as the 432 ,that was seriously minging . justin
  15. Your'e on! you have got a head start!! if you want a hand with the paint job i'm not bad with a spraygun , cheers justin
  16. A belgian scimitar i guess , can't wait to get stuck into it !!
  17. thats quite normal, luckily i have a very understanding wife justin
  18. AS far as i'm aware and i'm no expert on cvrts ,the scorpion and scimitar share the same hull and turret, when the scorpion was removed from service the fox turret was added to create the sabre ,so logically if you add a fox turret to a scorpion or scimitar you get a sabre . however if its going to upset anyone i'll devise a new name for it such as large metal thingy with turny roundy thing on top:-D
  19. helston gun smiths have got one but they want 8000 plus vat for it :-( there's plenty to go at for the moment so i'm not too stressed , i may even stick a scorpion turret on or something like that .or fabricate one like a chap on the 432 forum . justin
  20. Its an ex belgian hull ,the turret shown is being swapped for a sabre turret ,a bit of a mess but i like a challenge ,the only major bit missing is the mantlet if anyone knows of one ,i should be able to make up a dummy rarden justin
