Marked out the arena so its little bigger than last year 130m x 85m so more than enough room to play.
The camp is looking better than ever, Bob just never stops, he was working on moving several tons of hardcore in readiness for the ex-RAF hut but that won't go up till after the show.
So here are a few pics of the site taken today, will look great when full of vehicles & re-enactors.

Hi, a quick update to say that today I have posted entry numbers to all those that applied by post & will be emailing the rest over next couple of days. And popping over to Evesham now to mark out the corners of the arena so Bob can put the posts in etc.

Super pics, looks like great fun, thanks for posting.

Nearly up to 450 military vehicles so if the weather is kind we will be up on last year.
Had a working party at the camp yesterday, to do lots of creosoting/painting, cleaning windows, re-taping windows & weeding etc so thanks to all those that have registered so far & for the help yesterday. It was a bit gloomy at first but brightened up later.
Pic taken outside Auntie Jill's revamped canteen.

Hi & welcome,
It's a 1935 Riley Special, not military, but quite popular at that time for vehicles to be painted in British Racing Green.
Cheers

Glad you like it & the Hudson sounds interesting. Any civi vehicle pre-1950 is welcome, no age restriction for mv's just civi ones or else we would be over subscribed.
So thanks for your entry.
Cheers

And here's the latest nissen, no. 11, whilst the frame went up nearly two years ago, Bob only recently bought some more tin & managed to fit last week, so this will now become the Armoury come show time as we had outgrown the railway carriage.
I had wondered if this might be the last building to go up but no, some of our local members/re-enactors have just bought an ex RAF mess hut, 30m x 6m, needs a bit of work but plan to have it rebuilt at the camp later in the year & used for a new display in 2016.

Hi, not sure what happened, might have been some temporary glitch, as appears to be working.
Just over 300mv's booked in so far with the majority booked online.
cheers

as i am heavily involved with steam traction engines i have heard a lot of good things about Banbury but i have nether attended so it would be a very enjoyable first time visit if the DT gathering were to be held there. have just clocked the mileage on google maps to Banbury and it looks like a very pleasant 140 mile round trip for me.
still looking forward to attending this event.
cheers sam
It is a good show but the military section are not allocated much in the way of space, or at least they weren't when I attended about four years ago, perhaps a 100mv's then & I recall there was a very good turnout of Scammells especially as the section was managed by the Walter Family who have many MV's so you might have to ask for extra space.
Or as mentioned welcome to attend Evesham or good if someone did a recce of both events.
Round trip to Devizes to Evesham app 114 miles.
cheers Paul

Bloxham? The Scammell boys always put on a good show but DT's would add variety.
I previously stated that Bloxham was cancelled, according to this article it is now back on again...

Hi Adrian,
Clearly at this stage we don't know how many might register/turn up but if numbers similar to GDSF we could allocate a plot of land as we are always tweaking the layout. But as it would be a new venue for Diamond T owners then perhaps 5-10 might be more realistic.
And will look at including own slot in arena schedule , as this would be quite a spectacle.
Arena is appx 120m x 90m with a couple of mounds of earth to make it more interesting.
If a few of you decide to attend I would periodically update the numbers here.
Cheers Paul

Pleased to say we received notice today from the RAF Air Events Team that we will be graced by the Lancaster on the Sunday, yippee!

Yes, very nicely done, a good advert for your show, I would quite like to do the same. Particularly liked the editing with the Spit & Hurricane flying over with sound then merging into some drifting of a Sherman, well done.

Hi Tim, I'll email a copy of ours later & you are welcome to extract the sections you might need, cheers Paul

John Pearson and myself will be there with the Valintine DD and a Ferret plus other items hopefully.

Hi Al, that would be great to have it, thanks for letting me know, cheers Paul

Hello,
Would have posted earlier but sadly my Father died in Feb & funeral was just last week so my thoughts have been elsewhere. Though at times, planning the show has been a positive distraction.
And after much consultation with local members & the MVT we have agreed that the show will now be organised independently by Ashdown which is an already established business based on site.
So the event is supported by local MVT members and I'm pleased to add that it is kindly sponsored by both the MVT and Cherished Vehicle Insurance, so the changeover should be seamless as the format & layout will remain much the same. Though this year will be Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain and have booked a full-sized model Spitfire with a working Merlin engine that will be running at various times during the day, so that should sound fantastic, in addition to the BBMF flypasts that we have applied for.
I know many of you have already booked in, so thank you for that, but if any others would still like to join us the easiest way is to do it online here: http://www.ashdowncamp.webs.com/onlinevehiclereg.htm
Again we are likely to have in the region of 400+ mv's & 500+ re-enactors, we will also attempt to integrate more of those vehicles into groups displays.
I also like the suggestion on another post about hosting a Diamond T section, so if you guys have other suggestions then do please contribute.
cheers
Paul

Hello,
Yes we could set aside some space at Wartime in the Vale, Evesham. June 20 & 21.
Unfortunately I don't think Bloxham is taking place this year, which is a real shame as its been a great event.

We extend a warm welcome to you to join our post-Christmas road run. Unless there are impassable snowdrifts (6ft or over), we intend to 'patrol' along meandering byways, cheat almost certain death through a shallow ford, and risk sniper fire through an eerie wood. WARNING Anyone attempting this winding course along curvaceous bi-ways in a large vehicle might be well advised to be prepared for 97-point turns, and carry their own provisions: first little piggy at the trough and all that.
Start 10.30am Ashwdown Camp, Ashdown Farm, Badesy Nr Evesham, Worcs WR11 7PA, ends Toddington Railway GL54 5DT.
Please let me know if you would like to come, Paul, msg here or 0779 159 1528.

Aircraft - As mentioned before, we we due to have the Lancaster, but with the recent engine fire & internal damage, thats been grounded for the rest of the season, so as replacements we've managed to source a Dragon Rapide & Auster Spotter so at least we have something in the air.
