  1. Could somebody enlighten me about the fitment of these bulbs to the Centurion tank, I bought this last week at the local carboot, I picked it up and the seller claimed it was for a Centurion tank, so as it was only a £1, I decided to buy it. When I googled the part number, it does say fitted to Centurion tank but I can find no more info than this ? It's claimed it's for a searchlight but I can't find any details/pictures showing this.

I agree Ron! Several dropping tests were carried out by the military before Enfield started producing these dropping cradles. The design of the dropping cage had to be modified several times because motorcycles got damaged during the landing. I'm sure that the quality of these dropping crates had to be "perfect"!

The dropping crates were made in a Royal Enfield factory in Scotland by the way... (Edinburgh to be precise, with Calton Hill in the background.)

Great picture, it's also interesting to see the Jeep in the background, on a air droppable frame.

  4. Here's a boundary stone I bought about 10 years ago, from a demolition company, who had taken down a wall and some buildings at Colchester barracks, it measures 18" x 12" and weighs about 18kg, it had been set into the wall that they had taken down.. I've never been able to find any photos of the barracks to see where these stones might have been placed.

This water tanker came out of a wood outside Oxford. I regret not buying it. I think it was built by SS. Would it have had any common parts to your trailer:

I know this is a long shot (old thread), but does anybody know where or who has this trailer now, I have some thing from this very trailer that the owner might like, Regards Gary
