Nick,
You'll find info on the 'seal' on post 18 of this thread:
http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?51494-Milly-turbo-removal-return-to-standard/page2
it would be a good idea to check and renew if required the spigot shaft bearing in the flywheel too.
Sound advice Iain, thanks. Should be able to find one through Derby bearings.

Im in a US base so im afraid they would all be US MRAPs and some SF type lightweight vehicles which go no further than around camp.
MRAP's out here are either International Maxx-Pro or Oshkosh M-ATV. Nearly all have RWS fitted but unlike ours that had GPMG, the US go for .50cal or even ive seen Gatling type. But they tend to be the same ones that use the lightweight vehicles.
Other than that its armoured Landcruisers.
Truck wise its M1083 5 ton, M1096 and HEMTT. No one uses Humvees apart from around camp and they are rare. Most been given to Afghans.
Interested in the trucks if you get chance!

Evening all,
Quick update; clutch kit refurbished & on way back up north. Both gear boxes on way to localish repairers to build one good one out of the two.
I need the main oil seal that sits behind the flywheel in the photos as we believe it caused the oil contamination of the clutch assembly.
Regards,
Nick

Seeing as i contributed to this thread back in 2008/9 i thought i would pipe up.
Left the mil in 2013 and went straight out to Afghanistan to work for NATO is a NATO Tech Officer where i still am.
Not looked at this site for a bit then remembered it.
Funny how those SV's that back then everyone was waiting to come through the camp gates are now being sold. Those Recovery variants though have been on sale for a bit. The ones in the first link are certainly those trial ones.
The SV buy had a 20 year "shelf life" but i heard Afghanistan ones were pretty much hammered.
Any photos you can share?

Nick, Sod's law about Truckfix, sometimes if you don't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all!
Can you not source a driven plate from a motor factor, and is there actually anything wrong with the pressure plate? How goes it with the gearbox?
Indeed Iain, I hope precision clutches come through for me. The pricing didn't seem to bad to me, tried a local factor but couldn't source one. Thought I'd have the whole lot checked whilst it's out, no news on the box yet but will check when I'm up there early Sat morning.

Used to deal with A E Wilson on a regular basis a few years back, always gave good service. They occupy the old control tower on Sandtoft airfield.
