  2. i will have to see what's about next summer, aero mw would be great.just hope someone will have a 1940 dated something for sale. do love the aero mw's though and would be perfect size.or Morris cs8.would be happy with an oy aswell though
  3. Hi,thanks for the welcomes and suggestions. would love a mw aero or Morris, but am also swayed towards an oy. hopefully by the summer I'll have £7000+ so can properly look then.would like to do some work but would not be able to do a full field find resto. been doing plenty of reading on here to get a feel of what I'd be comfortable with. thanks guys
  4. Thanks. have lurked on here for a few years, but have decided hopefully next year I'll be in a position to actually own my own vehicle. now to decide on what
  5. Hi. I'm Dan. im hopefully going to be in a position to buy my first mv by the middle of next year.ill be on the look out for a early war British vehicle Dunkirk era. i don't have the skills or facilities to do a full resto but minor engine and body work I'll attempt. Can anyone suggest what I might be better off starting with? Expect some silly questions dan in Milton Keynes
  6. I was due to take part in the Dunkirk march,75 miles in full BEF kit. it has been cancelled due to insufficient numbers. wondered if anyone knew of any other events? or some one with vehicle needing an extra pair of hands etc?
  7. thanks for the welcomes guys. I have been mk museum the last couple of years, nice friendly event. don't think I can make this years show as it clashes with the victory show I believe. thanks for the offer of a ride in one of you vehicles, sounds great.never actually been for a ride in one so that would be great one day. do you guys also do wicksteed? stoke bruernne?
  8. hi,do you go to the mk museum event? well hopefully the saving will go to plan as long as the wife and kids don't get in my way ha ha. hopefully get a brit truck or jeep.a bren carrier would be amazing but till my lotto ticket comes up ill have to dream till then. might start with a motorbike to start.
  9. hi,thanks for the welcomes. was my first year with the group last year and had some great fun. been looking for a flea but not come across any yet, doesnt help a member of our group has 4(greedy man) hopefully the saving will go well and ill be able to afford something nice.
  10. hi, about time I introduced myself after lurking on here a while. im dan from Milton Keynes, always been interested in military especially ww2.im part of a living history group called "poor bloody infantry". Ive always wanted a military vehicle from the ww2 period motorbike to a tank.but with young kids I find my budget doesn't stretch that far yet. whats the cheapest way to start in ownership? wouldn't mind a royal enfield flying flea or matchless g3l to start the ball rolling well that's a bit about me dan
  11. very sad indeed, from the time it was at the rotunda is where most of my interest in ww2 came from, walking around with my grandad who would explain everything as he was a very proud old gunner. and visiting it at the new site when he became a volunteer, some might have encountered him l/sgt Herbert burtenshaw he was there until he sadly died a few years ago aged 93. surely it is a heritage centre and should be kept,in a very original building to its relevance.
