Hi can anyone tell me what type of wood was originally used to build the cab on a CX22S. And also was the 10ltr EN44c engine used in any other Albion models. Thanks skippypete

OK, going back about eighteen months. Repair of the cab. The cab woodwork was in a worse state than I thought. Isn't it always like that? Anyway, my joiner mate, Dave Denton was due me about a weeks labour from when I rewired his house so, he came and removed all the rotten wood. Then, using the old as templates, made up new sections and fitted them in place. We used mostly oak and a bit of mahogany because thats what I had in stock. There is still a wee bit of wood work to do, so, Dave is coming back in April to finish it off. These pictures have been posted before, but were lost in the big crash.

Any one know what happened to this Albion cx22s ?

Hi this Albion CX22S was originally in dark red with black wheel arches and was owned by G. Erwin Jr and had the name Marvellous on a plate over the radiator. It looks like it was a fair ground lorry. There are a few pictures on the Internet. In my view i think it looks better in the dark red. Skippypete

Hi you may have all ready seen it but there is a picture of your Albion on the CCMV web page, it said it was part of a private collection. Its a good looking truck where are you based do you take her out much? SkippyPete

Interesting to note, my friend owns one not listed, on the CX22 page in North Yorkshire. I'll ask him for some details !

Thanks for the link, i know most of the Albions on the Albion CX22s web page, my Dads one went to the Reme but no one can help its very strange. Ive been told the best thing to do is get hold of the trustees of the reme museum that will be my next step. I did e.mail Landyandy but im not sure got my e.mail, i was told he worked for the Reme. i will find it in the end. Thanks again skippypete

I have tried to send a couple of messages to other HMVF members using my HMVF account but have had a problem, there is no record of the messeges being sent of recived in my account so im not sure if they were ever sent, i wrote them out in the correct box even one that was a direct reply and sent them, but even this one there is no copy of my. so i dont no if they have been reciceved or not. is it me or is there a different way of getting in touch with other members. I'm trying to find few more photos, I have fond memory's of this Albion my father would take me and my 2 brothers out with him on recovery jobs when we were very young, and when it was in the yard we would climb all over it. As I got older I got to drive it recovering such vehicles as an over turned JCB and a Volvo F88 that took to a ditch one night. Skippypete

I thought i'd post a few pictures of my Dads old Albion CX22s, Big Bertha. My father ran a recovery business from Farnham and covered the Alton Aldershot and Guildford areas. He was also a visitor to the many steam rallys and carnivals in the area.

I have just joined HMVF as im in need of some help. My father was the pround owner of a Albion CX22 which he used for recovery work through the 60s 70s and 80s, around the Farnham in Surrey area. In the late 90s my father parked the Albion in the yard of JD Motors of Alton Hants with the view of myself and him doing a full restoration, but unfortunatly my work took me overseas for some time and then my father had a stroke. He decided to donate the Albion to a museam where it could be restored. An army low loader came and collected it and that was the last we saw of it. Last year my father was taken ill and later died but one of the last things he asked me was to find out what had happened to the Albion, if it had been restored and if not try and find away of doing it myself. so if any of the good folk on HMVF can help it would be much appreciated.
