  1. Shortly after being released through Ruddington YFO 311 was owned by Howard Rees of Monmouthshire who subsequently sold it to a commercial recovery operator in Hull where it was known as the "Terminator". Unlike many Constructors used for recovery work the body was not butchered in any way and YFO 311 used only a straight bar, or it's winch, to get the job done. It then went into retirement with Laurence Davison of Hexham who owned it for about 10 years up until 1998. It is powered by a 680 powerplus in place of the original Meadows. I took the following three photographs while it was owned by Laurence when I visited him.

  2. Late 1950's transitional cab with later type windscreens but earlier "slug" style side lights and fitted with trafficators (just behind door). Does anyone know what the purpose of the large bracket on the O/S rear corner of the cab was ? Also, you can just make out the crossed keys insignia on the front of the Militant on the left, which outfit would this be ?

  3. I response to the comments earlier about the Antars at Hunt's of Molesworth, here is one of them (in case you can't see it, the cab is on the left & the front top of the rear wing can be seen towards the right!)

     

    Thank you for posting this 'photo. I was there buying bits about 7 or 8 years ago when, as you may remember, the Hunts were gradually clearing their yard with a view to selling it to developers. Jacob Hunt was a real gentleman and charming to deal with. I didn't meet his brother Joe who was seriously ill with cancer. Apart from the Antars being there, I seem to remember quite a few other interesting MV's, either complete vehicles, or just the remains of. I may be wrong, but I doubt if much was saved.
