Here is a picture of the Peugeot, not finished yet but running very well. I fitted a 145 nozzle in the carb (instead of the 125) and it runs a lot better now. Choke can be released after 1-2 mins running. Although the magneto has no impulse the engine starts very well. I am thinking of keeping a second mag with it just in case, and am looking for one with impulse coupling. I now have to give it two swings, I am quite sure that with impulse it will start 'quart de tour' (1/4 swing) as they say in France. A new cone for the fuel tap was made, as the old one protruded at the end so no way to keep it closed with the spring. A good friend found an acetylene generator which will be fitted next. When I look at the pictures of trucks that have such a generator fitted, there is often a small device fitted next to the generator with two connections. Is it perhaps some sort of water lock?
Regards
Marcel

the small container is your acetylene producing unit (the gas that's needed to get your headlights working):cool2:

It would be worth giving Frank Brown an email enquiry at 'pegasus-drive@sky.com' . He does some top quality stuff, and I hear he makes British vehicle tilts with the right material and he has done MW's in the past.
have seen covers made by Frank Brown , absolutely top quality products ! Highly recomended !

Is this the forerunner of the 18/25 Pr , used by the BEF in 1940 ?

thanks to the social media , this problem has solved itself ,
sad also that you were blamed at your first call , they never counted on you bringing it in public

That's the weird part of shopping "online" , no direct contact between seller and buyer , I prefer doing business by "cash and carry , no bits means no money spent !

The trouble with Samur is that alot of the tanks there are still on the active list, so every now and then something gets cut up to conform to some treaty or other - not that long ago a Grant ARV finished up that way, absolutely unbelievable if you think about it
Due to our crazy European laws , almost everything goes on one or another "forbidden" list. It's getting harder and harder to start a collection of military related objects.

Sad news , another WW 2 veteran passed away.
The tank commander , Danny Mc Leod , South Alberta Regiment , 4th Canadian Armoured Division , liberated our home town , Eeklo , back in september '44.
No heavy fighting took place at the liberation , the German Army was on the retreat in our region . The Canadian Army had a very succesful campaign , from the Normandy landings , Belgium , The Netherlands through the heart of the "3d Reich". This man deserves his place among the heroes , may he rest in peace !

I think , the French government is not happy at all with the reopening on this matter , not all the responsability is to blaim to the German side , The French are very well aware of that !

Limber has now been restored ,

we have to draw a line somewhere.
the resistance was not more then a terrorist group that acted without uniforms or markings.
they did their part against the greater evil but still, where do we draw the line that enough is enough with prosecution?
If you act against the law ( which was ruled as German occupied country) , you are resistance fighter for the overruled government , but a terrorist for the "new" leaders. Consider both are right.
About Oradour sur Glane , the French resistance may be seen as the factor that the German action got out of control.
Women and Children were drawn together in the church , and resistance men hidden in the tower had lots of ammo and demolition charges. I read that those men paniced , lost their senses and let it explode so they were not taken alive and face torture and death. Arms ,legs and bodyparts were found in the wide environment of the building. Proof they were not shot to death but got killed by explosion. Not hard to understand the German SS troops went insain and finished it by killing all the men and boys , thinking they were under fire by the resistance.

That type of generator was used with the Bofors gun , for the land forces and also for the air force (anti aircraft ) and navy (on board of the vessels)

I bought a "new" Ben Hur trailer , which has been used for 70 years on a farm , that leaves its traces as you can notice,
This trailer has "front and rear tailgates" , and seems original to me , any ideas what was it used for ?
