Came home yesterday to avoid driving my Pig in the rain as a forty MPH jet wash for nearly 3 hours last year taught me a valuable lesson Have to say the toilet block near us was well maintained and cleaned regularly even though occasionally blocked it was rapidly sorted ! The shower blocks where also fit for purpose ! The noise til 4 in the morning one night was a spoiler for me also , I hope the new man in charge will have a fix for this as it seems it may be someones idea of a tradition  Stall holders where down as where vehicles on display in my opinion but still worth the agro and expense for me personally ! Loved the British Army Challenger display I still prefer the hopfarm though

Rick I am baffled by the museums lack of interest in these British historic artifacts and have decided to offer my BergePanther wreck to another museum :-) Well done for trying mate ! You are a credit to your hobby :-)

Hi mate , very sorry this post is upsetting you , I just thought it might help if you knew Antarmike has left the forum ! Once again sorry for the offence reading this thread has caused !

I'm sure it was the coil overheating that I had replaced earlier in the year. The frustrating thing was that although I had another coil with me & all the tools & test equipment one could wish for, it was far too dangerous to attempt a repair positioned around a bend partly in the slip road of the A3(M)
We had to stop a few miles down the road to reload it more centrally as it was having an adverse effect on the recovery vehicle's stability
Was a bit difficult trying to explain to the recovery company that it was slightly different looking Land Rover.
Yes Andy the Pig wouldn't have let me down, but it wouldn't have been very welcome at a Land Rover show
But very very welcome at War and Peace revival mate :-)

Fantastic ! Any history relating to this Hippo please ? Have you just found the winch ? Of course loads of pics would be appreciated ! :-) Sadly the youtube video of a convoy of these at operation Grapple on Christmas Island has been removed by CH4 for copyright infringement !

Hi Rich , I used a block and tackle attached to between the roof hatches pretty straight forward once you have the bulk head armour out of the way ! I didn't take the gearbox right out , just enough to replace the clutch if I remember correctly but it was a long time ago so don't quote me on it ! Good luck mate ! :-D

A steep hill in Cae Harris, S Wales causes problems for a Cementation drilling rig. Policeman stands guard to make sure Andyfowler and Daisy don't run off with it (although I think it would have been moved by now…).

Hi Nigel , just found this thread and love your collection ! My Pig also suffered from steering stiffness and it was caused by the upper bush in the steering column being tight due to corrosion of the inner column ! I sussed it by fully dismantling the column but I reckon if you jacked the front wheels off the ground and lubed the inner colum at the top and allowed the oil to run down into the bush whilst moving the wheel lock to lock it could improve it ! Keep up the good work mate ! :-D
"Daisy" or "Rust Bucket" depending on who you ask in our house !
