  2. It was only a matter of time before this was questioned :D

Mmm, therein may lie the problem - and overall length does not exceed length necessary to carry longest single load. It could be argued that it does exceed this, because trailer has been extended to carry the second unit.

How about we beak with tradition and neatly sidestep the usual HMVF bunfight normally arising when these questions of compliance with RV legislation crop up, and just agree that there are issues which need to be looked at and leave this to the transport companies concerned - who I guess know what they can and cannot get away with?

I heard a tale of a company that moved two big storage tanks at once by carrying with them a very long girder - and then took the girder back again to get the second pair of tanks. Make your own mind up on that one!

  3. Been snowing here constantly since yesterday evening after 2 weeks of below freezing conditions with a strong wind, just what we wanted for the lambing season! Went with a big 4X4 tractor and trailer to collect 2 tonnes of sheep nuts, drifts up to 8ft deep and road only being kept open by a tracked skid steer Cat working constantly, complete white out in some parts, could feel the tractor hitting drifts bit couldn't see anything. Normally we would go with a 4x4 and trailer and the round trip would take about an hour, today it took nearly 3 hours.

    Stay safe mate ! :-)

  4. Lucky enough to have bought the puller in the past mate ! Borrowed Bernards spanner to tighten the hub nuts when refitting ! :-D The photo of me on the end of the bar was taken just before that hub suddenly came undone and dropped me straight onto part of the crane frame ! OUCH ! Won't do that again without looking at the landing area ! :-D
