  1. Thanks, one hell of a trailer for 2 tonne, air braked all round. Worth saving or scrapman? Trailer is basically solid although wheel arches need minor work and brakes are siezed - lack of use/stuck rather than beyond help. Engine museum so ex-mil trailer not required! Thanks Paul
  2. Does anybody recognise this trailer? The engine is now off so can take further pics if needed. Ackerman steering and has two rectangular bars mounted through the deck across the bed. Thanks Paul
  3. When I posted the info in the IWM Disposals thread I mentioned a Pioneer from the 80s. This was Tiny Tim, used for recovery on the M5 in the 70s. Technique for bad wrecks was to feed the main winch cable under the wrecked car and up to the jib. Winch in and crush the car against the back of the Pioneer and drive off the motorway. She started first time after standing in the field for some years and drove on the low loader. Sadly work and other pressures meant she was sold to a collector in Surrey. The ex-IWM Pioneer is now running but needs a dynamo. She will be parked up for a couple of months until the weather improves then we will strip the panels and fabricate new. Still cannot believe how original she is. Paul Internal Fire Museum of Power http://www.internalfire.com
  4. Thanks Scott. She was sheeted up on arrival but if we have a dry day this week I won't be able to resist having a play and will take a few more pics. Have some other pics of an SV2S I recovered from the Bridgewater area back in the 80s, sadly work prevented the restoration and she was passed on. Paul
  5. The ex-IWM Scammell TRMU30 has now arrived in Wales. She is in fair condition mechanically but the cab requires a rebuild, engine turns over but we have a spare 6LW if needed. As well as being an exhibit in her own right her main job will be winching some of the larger engines around the museum, crane hire for shifting 30 ton plus diesels is prohibitive. She will be joined by a number of engines from the IWM disposals list at Easter. Sadly the majority have components missing but will all be assessed with a view to running at some point of possible.
