Hi
The lights are standard military tail marker lights used on various applications from vehicles to trailers. The two silver things look like pressure switches. Rest I'm not sure on.
You selling as job lot or Separating, as I'm looking for two of the marker lights.
PM you

Hi,
Good to hear of another Lightweight trailer in restoration. Here is a link to some photos of the restoration of one of my trailers. Also an Orme Evans from the same 7130 contract:
Excellent John, thank you for sharing these, great reference for me.
Drawings went into fabricators today for all repair panels and new draw bar.
Looking for a local source for bolts and fixings, most are salvageable but may as well go whole hog. A mix of BSF and Whitworth by looking at them.
John, can you please measure your square beam axle from inside hub. Full width if you can. Mines been chopped about. Is it 45 1/2 "?? Need to source new material.

Look at the thread regarding 4.2" mortar trailers
Almost all the information you will need to make one yourself.
Hi Tony
Great thread. Mine is not a mortar one, ive come to the conclusion, but a
Trailer 1/2 ton,
cargo ligtweight,
2 wheel No1 Mk2
solid steel sides, seam welded so watertight, fixed front and rear sections and draw bar through the full length ontop of the floor panel.
Its Number is X5898619 Making it an Orme Evans, contract No S7130 Date 13.7.44
Also found evidence of Mickey Mouse black paint on top of the original green but under the numbers.:cool2:

Hi,
A friend of mine has one and half trailers in pieces in his shed. The half trailer has all the pieces, he was very festidious about preserving all the fittings, but body rotted away. We originally planned to rebuild them both using the first as a pattern, but I haven't the time and luckily came across a restored and original one. I will ask him if he is interested in passing it on.
Hi Tom
I did send you a PM but not sure if you received it as not showing in my sent files.
Im very interested if you can PM me with info. Collection would not be a problem.
My tub is rotten all around the base about 6" up and floor.
I need to rebuild the rear panel as its been cut down into a tailgate.
I have removed all the added on brackets and lights back to basic bare tub and chassis.
Any help greatly appreciated
many Thanks
Paul

Have you tried pirtek? we use this style on aircraft ground equipment and they made our hoses.. But I didnt foot the bill.
I'm ex pirtek and own my own hydraulics company now. If I had samples I'm sure I could help.
-
I don't have the two hoses so no...its a really rather large press fitting like a normal hydraulic fitting but i don't know what its pressure is or its size...the fitting on the pump is smaller than the fitting on the motor but they are push fit types but just large...I could photograph the fittings my son says he has never seen them and he makes hoses...
Ok, just I own my own hydraulic company. Some odd ball stuff on military vehicles

Guys does anyone know where I can get hoses that connect from the hydraulic pump on the GUE TO THE HYDRAULIC starter on the Chieftain.
Any pictures??

isn't that the most bizarre thing? This sort of weird contraption is why I love this era of motor manufacturing so much, they really had no idea :-)
I wonder how that will smell during gear-changes?
Medium Rare to well done depending on the braking!!

Yes mate, the partitioned are TIA and AFI marked.
The wartime axle floodlights had the screw fitting in the rear tho.
Either will do me for my project.
